  • Patent number: 11475600
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for compressing an input data set, wherein the coefficients in the input data set are grouped in groups of coefficients, a number of bit planes, GCLI, needed for representing each group is determined, a quantization is applied, keeping a limited number of bit planes, a prediction mechanism is applied to the GCLIs for obtaining residues, and an entropy encoding of the residues is performed. The entropy-encoded residues, and the bit planes kept allow the decoder to reconstruct the quantized data, at a minimal cost in meta-data.

  • Patent number: 11128793
Abstract: An endpoint deployed in a room may analyze a video output of a video camera disposed within the room for an image of a microphone disposed within the room. Based on the analyzing, the endpoint may then detect the image of the microphone within the video output of the video camera. The endpoint may then determine if the microphone is receiving speech from an active speaking participant, who may be one of the one or more participants that are disposed within the room. In the event the microphone is receiving speech from the active speaking participant, the endpoint may then display on a video display the video output of the video camera that has been altered to show a framing of the active speaking participant.

  • Patent number: 10212421
Abstract: The invention provides a method and device for compressing a sequence of signed coefficients wherein coefficients are grouped, for each group, the greatest coded line index (GCLI) is determined, a quantization level t is applied and only the GCLI-t lowest weight bits of the coefficients are copied into the output stream together with the value of the GCLI. According to the invention, sign bits are not coded for coefficient having a zero quantized value. The invention also provides a method for determining a data budget required for compressing a sequence of signed coefficients, in dependence of a quantization level, and a method for compressing an image within the limits of a given data budget constraint. The invention provides a compressed data set coding an image in an efficient way.

  • Patent number: 10194219
Abstract: The invention provides a method for mapping a data stream onto an SDI channel, said data stream comprising a sequence of m-bit words, a range of values from 0 to 2**n?1 and from 2**m?2**n to 2**m?1 being excluded values on said SDI channel. The method comprises the steps of grouping the words to be transmitted, detecting if at least one of the words of the group contains a number of MSB's equal to one, and then recoding these MSBs and adding a constant, in order that no excluded values are obtained. Supplementary bits signal groups that have been recoded.

  • Publication number: 20140195227
Abstract: An acoustic transformation system and method. A specific embodiment is the transformation of acoustic speech signals produced by speakers with speech disabilities in order to make those utterances more intelligible to typical listeners. These modifications include the correction of tempo or rhythm, the adjustment of formant frequencies in sonorants, the removal of adjustment of aberrant voicing, the deletion of phoneme insertion errors, and the replacement of erroneously dropped phonemes. These methods may also be applied to general correction of musical or acoustic sequences.
