  • Patent number: 6907673
Abstract: Touch-triggered probe comprising a fixed part, designed to be fastened onto a measuring machine or a machine tool, and a mobile contact feeler that can be oriented on two independent axes along a multiplicity of spatial directions. The two axes of the probe comprise each an actuator for unlocking and adjusting the axes. The operation force is reduced as compared with the high effective indexing force by a demultiplying mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6813845
Abstract: Method enabling a command to switch the measure mode to be entered in a dimension-measuring column (1) provided with a probe tip (44). The command is entered by acting on the angular position of a turning control button, for example by pivoting it until a predetermined angular position. A tactile reaction is perceived by the operator when a predetermined threshold is reached. Advantages: it is possible to enter the commands to switch measuring mode intuitively and without the hands letting go of the turning button.

  • Patent number: 6802133
Abstract: Method enabling a command to switch the measure mode to be entered in a single vertical axis dimension-measuring column. The mode witch command is entered by pressing the probe tip against the piece to be measured during a time interval greater than a predetermined value. The measuring and displaying system then engages in a search mode of the turn-back point of said piece to be measured. Application: measurement of inner or outer diameters by means of a single-axis measuring column. The method allows the hole's minimal and maximal points to be determined with a minimum of handling operations.

  • Patent number: 6802135
Abstract: Column for measuring longitudinal dimensions (1) comprising: a supporting frame (2), a carriage (3) capable of moving along a measuring axis (z) along the supporting frame, a cable or belt (40) for moving said carriage along said measuring axis, a counterweight connected to said cable or belt so as to move in opposite direction from the carriage, a guiding surface for restricting the counterweight's movements. A play of 1 millimeter is provided between said counterweight and said guiding surface. This play is sufficient to avoid any contact between said counterweight and any guiding surface when said counterweight is displaced vertically.

The two axes of the probe comprise each an actuator for unlocking and adjusting the axes. The operation force is reduced as compared with the high effective indexing force by a demultiplying mechanism having an increasing transmission ratio, for making easier the operation in unlocked position. The indication elements can easily be read whatever the feeler's orientation.

  • Patent number: 6763604
Abstract: Column for measuring longitudinal dimensions (1) comprising: a supporting frame (2), a carriage (3) capable of moving along a measuring axis (z) along the supporting frame, a probe tip (44) connected to said carriage and designed to be brought into contact with the piece to be measured, a driving device of the carriage comprising a cable or belt (40) for moving said carriage along said measuring axis, a system for measuring the position of said carriage (3) along said measuring axis, a frame connected in an articulated manner to the carriage. The cable or belt are fastened to the frame. The articulation between the frame and the carriage allows at least one pivoting along a pivoting axis (x) parallel to the plane of said carriage. Advantages: the forces and moments exerted by the cable or belt are not exerted directly onto the carriage. The forces along an axis other than the measuring axis are absorbed by the frame.

  • Patent number: 6751884
Abstract: Column for measuring longitudinal dimensions (1) comprising: a supporting frame (2), a carriage (3) capable of moving along a measuring axis (z) along the supporting frame, a probe tip (44) connected to said carriage and designed to be brought into contact with the piece to be measured, a motorized driving device of the carriage comprising a cable or belt (40) for moving said carriage along said measuring axis and a driving motor (5), a system for measuring the position of said carriage (3) along said measuring axis. The driving motor drives an upper driving pulley through a reducing gear and a friction element. The motor, the reducing gear and the friction element are all integrated inside the pulley. Advantages: gain of space. Reduction of the number of parts. Reduction of the constraints applied by the driving belt on the carriage.

  • Patent number: 6724186
Abstract: Electronic circuit for dimension-measuring device with magneto-resistive electrodes supplying at least one feed voltage for feeding a network of magneto-resistive electrodes and a measuring circuit comprising two differential inputs connected to the network. The measuring circuit uses a rough counter and a fine interpolation circuit for determining from the two sinusoidal input signals received the position of the sensor along the scale. The feed circuit periodically reduces the supplied electric feed voltage so as to temporarily lessen the dissipation of energy in the magneto-resistive electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20030106229
Abstract: Reference gauge for calibrating measuring machines whose reference dimension can be measured both on its inner size and by its outer size, thus making it possible to keep the reference dimension less than 15 millimeters, even for calibrating measuring machines equipped with probe tips having a diameter greater than that dimension. The calibration method with the aid of such a reference gauge comprises in certain cases the measuring of the calibrated distance between two outer surfaces of a protruding volume.
