  • Publication number: 20240082086
Abstract: A manifold assembly includes a manifold core defining an inlet tube, an outlet tube, a first projection configured to be fluidly coupled with a first bladder, and a second projection configured to be fluidly coupled with a second bladder. A connector is operably coupled to the manifold core and defines a first pathway region, a second pathway region, and release notches. A motor rotates the connector to a first position to fluidly couple the outlet tube with the first projection via the first pathway region and the inlet tube with the second projection via the second pathway region, to a second position to fluidly couple the first and projections with the release notches, and to a third position to fluidly couple the outlet tube with the second projection via the first pathway region and the inlet tube with the first projection via the second pathway region.

  • Publication number: 20230000703
Abstract: A support surface assembly includes a covering defining an interior. Bladders are disposed within the interior. The bladders are operable between a deployed state and a non-deployed state. A manifold assembly is disposed within the interior of the covering. The manifold assembly includes a manifold core defining an inlet and multiple outlets. An engagement surface of the manifold core defines an inlet-connecting aperture in fluid communication with the inlet and multiple outlet-connecting apertures each in fluid communication with one of the multiple outlets. A connector includes an inner side that abuts the engagement surface of the manifold core. The inner side defines a recessed region. The connector is configured to be rotated by a motor to fluidly couple the inlet-connecting aperture with at least one of the outlet-connecting apertures to adjust the respective bladders between the deployed state and the non-deployed state.

  • Patent number: 9050228
Abstract: A siderail assembly configured to move between a storage position and a deployed position comprises a base, a siderail body, and a movement mechanism. The a base is configured to coupled to a person support apparatus. The siderail body includes a biasing portion configured to bias the siderail body toward the storage position. The movement mechanism is coupled to the base and the siderail body and is configured to move the siderail body between the deployed position and the storage position. The movement mechanism engages the biasing portion as the movement mechanism moves the siderail body from the storage position toward the deployed position. The movement mechanism overcomes the bias of the biasing portion to move the siderail body to the deployed position.

  • Patent number: 7975333
Abstract: A bed has two safety barrier elements arranged along a common side. Each barrier element (19, 21) is linked to the bed frame (11) by two hinged arms (25, 26; 35, 36) forming a deformable parallelogram mechanism, but only one (19) comprises means of locking in the up position (49), whereas attachment means (45, 46) are installed between the adjacent ends of the two barrier elements for selectively constituting a barrier consisting of a single piece.

  • Patent number: 7913334
Abstract: A bed includes at least one barrier element (19, 21) extending along a lateral side of a bed frame. At least one part of this barrier element is laterally tiltable, by being hinged (31, 41) in its lower part, along a horizontal axis substantially parallel to the lateral side of the bed for assisting the patient as he or she is standing up.
