  • Patent number: 6181129
Abstract: Device for detecting parameters of the rotation of a shaft 1 that rotates with respect to a stationary element, there being at least one bearing between the shaft and the stationary element so that the shaft can be mounted to rotate with respect to the stationary element, the said device comprising an encoder means 15 rotated by the rotating shaft, and a sensor means 10 secured to a stationary element and arranged facing and a small air gap away from the encoder means whose passage during rotation is detected by the sensor means. The encoder means and the sensor means are supported by a removable unit 4 independent of the bearing, the said unit being capable of being mounted on the stationary element and having a stationary part 9 supporting the sensor means and a rotating part 13 supporting the encoder means, the rotation of the rotating part being connected to that of the rotating shaft.

  • Patent number: 5564838
Abstract: A member for axially retaining a rolling-contact bearing (6) relative to a mechanical element (13) radially adjacent to the rolling-contact bearing consists of an open metallic ring (21) which can be elastically deformed radially, produced from a thin sheet of metal, and including a substantially cylindrical part (22), at least one end of which is equipped with a radial rim intended to interact both with a circular groove (14) formed in a housing (12) of the mechanical element adjacent to the rolling-contact bearing and with the non-rotating race (11) of the rolling-contact bearing, so as to form an axial limit stop for the latter.

  • Patent number: 5530344
Abstract: The encoder element (8) for a rolling-contact bearing equipped with an information sensor assembly is rendered integral with a rotating race of the bearing and interacts with a sensor of the said information sensor assembly in order to detect the speed of rotation of the bearing. It comprises an annular target (13) made of ferromagnetic material provided with a cylindrical bearing surface (13a) for mounting on the rotating race of the bearing and with a flat disc-shaped radial part (13b) with windows (13c) or slots of identical size and uniformly distributed along the circular path, and an axially magnetized bipolar ring (14) provided with axial crenellations (14b) which are uniformly and circumferentially distributed and which penetrate axially into the said windows or slots in the target.

  • Patent number: 5434503
Abstract: The device for detecting the rotational speed of a rolling-contact bearing includes an encoding element provided with a multipolar ring with axial magnetism secured to the rotating race of the bearing. The device further includes a sensor element provided with a passive sensor with a coil wound in an annular magnetic flux concentrator of U-shaped cross-section, and with a sensor holder secured to the non-rotating race of the bearing. The multipolar ring and the sensor element are located radially with an air gap. The magnetic flux concentrator includes a cylindrical part delimited axially by two collecting branches situated radially outside the cylindrical part. At least one of the collecting branches includes teeth on its periphery. Also, that branch of the flux concentrator which is located on the same side as the rolling elements is inclined toward the adjoining row of rolling elements.

  • Patent number: 5382098
Abstract: The sealing device (1) for a bearing (2) includes a first piece (8) of annular overall shape secured to the non-rotating race (4) of the bearing and supporting a permanent magnet (14), a second piece (9) of annular overall shape secured to the rotating race (3) of the bearing and including an annular part forming a pulse generator and a flexible sealing part in contact with the first piece. In operation the first and second pieces (8, 9) mounted in the radial space between the rotating race and non-rotating race at one end of the bearing provide the sealing of the bearing with respect to the external surroundings, the permanent magnet (14) being arranged facing a sensor (11) which is fixed with respect to the non-rotating race, the pulse generator passing between the permanent magnet and the sensor during the rotation of the rotating race of the bearing.
