  • Publication number: 20140086177
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed such that a WTRU may obtain network operator agnostic wireless access for a service. The WTRU may receive a system information (SI) broadcast from a radio access network (RAN) node. The SI broadcast may indicate that an operator of the RAN node supports service-based network access. The WTRU may send a service request to a virtual service provider to request the service. The WTRU may receive a service response from the virtual service provider. The WTRU may receive a service response from the virtual service provider, the service response indicating a mobile network operator (MNO) to use for obtaining the service and subscription information for accessing the MNO, wherein the MNO is different than the operator of the RAN node. The WTRU may access the MNO to obtain the service.

  • Publication number: 20140056243
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for a WTRU to operate using multiple schedulers. The WTRU may exchange data with the network over more than one data path, such that each data path may use a radio interface connected to a different network node and each node may be associated with an independent scheduler. For example, a WTRU may establish a RRC connection between the WTRU and a network. The RRC connection may establish a first radio interface between the WTRU and a first serving site of the network and a second radio interface between the WTRU and a second serving site of the network. The RRC connection may be established between the WTRU and the MeNB and a control function may be established between the WTRU and the SCeNB. The WTRU may receive data from the network over the first radio interface or the second radio interface.

  • Publication number: 20130303114
Abstract: Flexible sharing of common radio access network (RAN) resources may pool unallocated resources. For example, sharing of the network resources may be static, e.g., the sharing contract may define a fixed percentage allocation of network resources that may not be modified without change in contract. The sharing of the network resource may also be dynamic and may accommodate the capacity needs of hosted operators on a real-time basis.

  • Publication number: 20130303203
Abstract: Embodiments contemplate paging and system information broadcast handling for multi-SIM WTRUs using mobile networks to access resources and/or services. Embodiments also contemplate paging and system information broadcast handling for multi-SIM WTRUs and/or non-SIM WTRUs using mobile networks to access virtualized resources and/or services. Embodiments contemplate that a WTRU may determine to monitor a plurality of mobile networks. Paging occasions to monitor at least one of the mobile networks may be based on a common WTRU ID. The WTRU ID may be provided by a node supporting access to the virtualized resources or services. Paging occasions for a first network may be determined by a second network based on paging related parameters and other information of the first communication network. A change in system information of a first network may be signaled to a second network for indication to a WTRU.

  • Publication number: 20130287012
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for maintaining communications over a bearer when at least one of two wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) transition to idle mode. In one case, a direct WTRU-to-WTRU bearer may be released in response to a first one of the WTRUs transitioning to idle mode. A second one of the WTRUs may send a first of a plurality of packets to the first WTRU via a default packet data network (PDN) connection or a default bearer towards the PDN connection. The first packet may have a destination Internet protocol (IP) address of the second WTRU and trigger paging to the first WTRU. The first WTRU may transition to connected mode in response to the paging. Other cases may release a portion of a bearer, rather than the entire bearer. A method and apparatus for initiating proximity service bearer establishment is also described.

  • Publication number: 20130201830
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems are described for machine type communication (MTC) devices to share the same data path when the MTC devices transmit data to destination, or vice versa. The shared data path may run through the whole length of the traffic end-to-end or a segment between two nodes. A method may involve routing a first communication from a first MTC device toward a first MTC server through a logical 3GPP path between a first 3GPP network node and a second 3GPP network node. The logical 3GPP path is assigned a path identifier. The method may also comprise routing a second communication from a second MTC device toward a second MTC server through the logical 3GPP path.
