  • Publication number: 20150094911
Abstract: A method for determining the driving state of a vehicle comprises the following steps: detecting (21) first measurement signals of a first inertial measurement sensor system (1, 100), wherein the first inertial measurement sensor system is arranged in a first region of the vehicle so that it does not execute a relative movement in relation to the first region of the vehicle, and wherein the first measurement signals correspond to at least one acceleration component in three-dimensional space and/or at least one rotation rate component of the first inertial measurement sensor system (1, 100) in the first region of the vehicle in three-dimensional space; detecting (21) second measurement signals of a second inertial measurement sensor system (2, 100), wherein the second inertial measurement sensor system is arranged in a second region of the vehicle, which is movable in relation to the first region of the vehicle, wherein it is arranged so that it does not execute a relative movement in relation to the secon

  • Patent number: 8666589
Abstract: A method for determining the driving state of a vehicle in three-dimensional space comprising the steps: sensing of first signals over a specific time period, these signals being based on the first sensor signals which correspond to the three-dimensional acceleration of the vehicle; sensing of seconds signals over the specific time period, these signals being based on the second sensor signals which correspond to the three-dimensional angular rates of the vehicle; calculating the driving state variables of the three-dimensional velocity and/or three-dimensional orientation of the vehicle by integrating the first signals and or the second signals over the specific time period according to the system of equations of motion for the corresponding driving state variables; sensing of one or more third signals which are based on one or more additional third sensor signals with which one or more components of the calculated driving state variables can be determined; and correcting the first and second signals of the

  • Publication number: 20070027582
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for measuring motion quantities for the purpose of recognizing the driving status of a motor vehicle with the aid of a first sensor for measuring a motion quantity along a first direction in space and a second sensor for measuring the motion quantity along a second direction in space, the measuring direction of the first sensor forming an angle with the measuring direction of the second sensor. In this manner, a primary direction and an additional direction can be assigned to the two measuring directions of the sensors. The primary direction coincides with one of the two measuring directions of the sensors or it lies between the two measuring directions of the sensors so that both measuring directions of the sensors have a component along the primary direction.
