  • Patent number: 9083175
Abstract: HDMI devices coupled to interfaces in environments with high voltages, for example in an automotive vehicle, may be damaged by a short circuit between a cable and a large DC voltage. A protection circuit (100) for the high speed TMDS lines of an HDMI interface includes a DC voltage source (22, 24), a pair of capacitors (C1, C2) and a pair of splitters (12, 14). Each splitter is arranged to split a signal from respective one of the pair of electrical conductors between two signal paths, whereby one of the signal paths is coupled to the voltage source, and a second signal path is coupled to a first terminal of a respective one of the pair of capacitors. A signal received from an HDMI source (26) is split between a first path coupled to a first terminal of a respective capacitor and a second path coupled to the DC voltage source.

  • Patent number: 6606013
Abstract: The invention relates to an equalizing device (62) intended to be used in a signal processing device (30) of a cable distribution network (1). The equalizing device according to the invention comprises two branches (B1, B2) brought together at the input (IN) and output (OUT) via two diplexers (SS, RC). At least either of the two branches includes an attenuator (V1, V2, V3). The passband of the two diplexers is determined to compensate for the faults caused by the distribution network. Advantageously, either of the two branches comprises an attenuator which is adjustable. The control of the adjustable attenuator is local or remote. The shape of the frequency response of such an equalizing device is regular when the value of the attenuation varies.

  • Patent number: 6374087
Abstract: A peak limiter is intended to limit the peak of a signal that has a given frequency, in an assembly comprising other signals of lower amplitude and different frequencies. The peak limiter includes a circulator inserted into a line transporting all the signals. A first branch of the circulator is connected to a line on its upstream side. Its second branch is connected to a line on its downstream side. It's third branch is connected to a reference terminal via the combination of a band-pass filter centered on the given frequency, a threshold element, and an adapted load connected in series.

  • Patent number: 5767759
Abstract: An inductor has a winding arranged on a straight magnetic core formed by a plurality of ferrite cylinders disposed in line with one another with a space between adjacent cylinders. The ferrite cylinders are accommodated in a common cylinder made of a molded plastic material which has a helical groove in its outer cylindrical surface. The inductor is used for the injection of a low-frequency current into a cable of a CATV system.

  • Patent number: 5550523
Abstract: The inductor has a winding arranged on a straight magnetic core formed by, for example, a ferrite cylinder (4) accommodated in a cylinder (1) made of a moulded plastics material and having a longitudinal groove in its outer cylindrical surface, in which groove a bar (2) of an electrically resistive material is mounted, the bar being fixed underneath the winding wire (3). The inductor is used for the injection of low-frequency current into a cable of a CATV system.

  • Patent number: 5515801
Abstract: Folding trimaran which is symmetrical in relation to its median longitudinal axis and comprises a central hull, equipped with a mast, and also two lateral floats, which are connected to the central hull by at least one connecting arm. The trimaran can be moved between a first position in which the connecting arms are unfolded approximately horizontally on each side of the central hull, substantially perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the latter, and a second position in which the floats are folded along the central hull in such a manner as to reduce the space requirement. The trimaran has at least two connecting arms arranged symmetrically to define a maneuvering pair extending as far as the median horizontal axis.
