Publication number: 20240358568Abstract: A mattress for a patient support apparatus has a cover having bottom and top surfaces, and an inflatable section disposed between the bottom and top surfaces. The inflatable section has a plurality of upper bladders in fluid communication with each other and a plurality of lower bladders in fluid communication with each other. The upper and lower bladders are selectively inflated independently from each other. The upper and lower bladders are formed by three sheets including an upper sheet, a lower sheet disposed below the upper sheet, and an intermediate sheet disposed between the upper and lower sheets. The upper sheet is fixed to the intermediate sheet to define the upper bladders between the upper sheet and the intermediate sheet. The lower sheet is fixed to the intermediate sheet to define the lower bladders between the lower sheet and the intermediate sheet. Other aspects of the mattress are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2024Publication date: October 31, 2024Inventors: Sylvain LACASSE, Pascal POULIN, André GUILLEMETTE, Montassar BEN ABDALLAH, Pierre-Luc NADEAU, Steve BOLDUC, Audrey LAINÉ, Jasmine JOLY-DUMONT, Martin LAVOIE, Philippe ROY, Jérôme MARCOTTE, Daniel QUINTERO, Claude BERNIER, Josée ROBERGE

Patent number: 7828925Abstract: The invention relates to a process for flat edge-to-edge assembly of two portions of textile parts by means of a gluing ribbon overlapping the two edges. According to this process, before the gluing ribbon is put into place, two borders adjacent to the edges are glued onto each other, so as to hold the edges close to each other. The two glued borders are shorn close to where the two edges are fixed together, and the gluing ribbon (28) is applied overlapping the two edges that are brought together. The shorn glued borders, are flattened when applying the gluing ribbon.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2004Date of Patent: November 9, 2010Assignee: HBI Branded Apparel Enterprises, LLCInventors: Maurice Perron, Philippe Nectoux, Pascal Roy

Patent number: 7769697Abstract: A method for validating an electronic payment by a credit/debit card in a transaction system. The method includes registering a purchase of an article by a buyer using a credit/debit card associated with at least one PIN code, checking that the at least one PIN code is associated with the number of said credit/debit card provided by said buyer to said seller terminal, checking, by said electronic payment center, whether or not said at least one PIN code is valid, and one of: after the at least one PIN code is found to be valid, checking, by said electronic payment center, whether the electronic payment center has received a pre-validation from a third party; after the at least one PIN code is found to be valid, contacting a third party via a communication network and requesting that the third party validate the purchase; and after the at least one PIN code is found to be valid, contacting a third party via a communication network and requesting said at least one PIN code from the third party.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2006Date of Patent: August 3, 2010Assignee: International Busniess Machines CorporationInventors: Jacques Fieschi, Jean-Francois Le Pennec, Patrick Michel, Pascal Roy

Patent number: 7228430Abstract: A security system for preventing unauthorized use of a computer device. An extractable security piece includes an extractable main private key and a main PC public key. A PC security area which is a non-extractable part of the computer device includes a PC private key and an extractable main public key, which, together with the keys of the extractable security piece, constitute a Public Key Infrastructure. The extractable security piece and the PC security area include processing means for mutual authentication of the extractable security piece and the PC security area after the extractable security piece, which had been previously removed, has been reinserted in the computer device, thereby enabling the authorized user to access data stored in the computer device.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2002Date of Patent: June 5, 2007Assignee: Lenovo Singapore Pte. LtdInventors: Alain Benayoun, Jacques Fieschi, Jean-Francois Le Pennec, Pascal Roy

Patent number: 7177849Abstract: Method for validating an electronic payment by a credit card in a transaction system comprising a seller terminal (12) for registering a sale of one or several articles by a buyer (10 or 11) using a credit card associated with a plurality of PIN codes and an electronic payment center (14) connected to the seller terminal by the Internet network (16). The method consists for the electronic payment center to check that a buyer PIN code which is provided by the buyer to the center is associated with the number of the credit card provided by the buyer to the seller terminal and is characterized in that it comprises a step automatically carried out by the electronic payment center of checking with a third party whether the buyer PIN code is valid.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2001Date of Patent: February 13, 2007Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Jacques Fieschi, Jean-Francois Le Pennec, Patrick Michel, Pascal Roy

Patent number: 6198439Abstract: The multifunction printed-circuit antenna is designed for the reception of radioelectric waves sent by the GPS, GLONASS and MLS radio navigation systems. It comprises first, second and third circular patches that are parallel to one another and superimposed in this order above one and the same ground plane that is parallel to them, the centers of the patches being aligned on one and the same axis z′z perpendicular to the plane of the three patches, the patches being separated from one another by thicknesses of a substrate-forming dielectric material for each of the patches. The first and second patches form, with the ground plane, the antenna structure for the reception of the GPS, GLONASS waves. The MLS antenna reception structure is formed by the third and second patches. The second patch also serves as a ground plane for the MLS antenna structure.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1999Date of Patent: March 6, 2001Assignee: Thomson-CSFInventors: Philippe Dufrane, Pascal Roy
