  • Patent number: 9589389
Abstract: The invention notably relates to a computer-implemented method for designing a three-dimensional modeled object comprising providing sample points of 3D curves sketched by a user; determining a volumetric function, within a predetermined class of volumetric functions, as the optimum of an optimization program that explores orientation vectors defined at the sample points under the constraint that the explored orientation vectors be normal to the 3D curves and respect a minimal rotation propagation condition over each 3D curve, wherein the optimization program penalizes a distance from the explored orientation vectors; and fitting the sample points with an isovalue surface of the volumetric function.

  • Publication number: 20140184602
Abstract: It is proposed a computer-implemented method for streaming a simulated three-dimensional modeled object from a server to a remote client, comprising the steps of: a) receiving on a server an interaction performed by a user on a remote client; b) performing on the server the steps of: simulating a three-dimensional modeled object based on the interaction; converting the result of the simulation into at least one two-dimensional image; compressing the said at least one two-dimensional image; and sending to the remote client the compressed at least one two-dimensional image.

  • Patent number: 8332189
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of design of ruled surfaces may comprise the step of accessing data defining guiding curves P(u) and Q(v) and a cost function ƒ(t,w). Given P(u) and Q(v), the unknown coupling is a parameterized curve s(t(s),w(s)). The method further comprises defining an objective function of the type J=J(ƒ,t,w), involving both ƒ(t,w) and coordinates t, w of the coupling curve. Then, optimizing the objective function J makes it possible to obtain the target coupling curve. Finally, a ruled surface S(s,?)=?Q(w(s))+(1??)P(t(s))is provided, according to the guiding curves P(t(s)) and Q(w(s)), composed with the coordinates t,w of the coupling curve previously obtained. In addition, the objective function is further constrained at the optimization step such that arguments t,w of the cost function ƒ(t,w) are regulated by a regulation function ?.

  • Publication number: 20100004770
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of design of ruled surfaces. The method comprises the step of accessing data defining guiding curves P(u) and Q(v) and a cost function f(t, w). Given P(u) and Q(v), the unknown coupling is a parameterized curve s(t(s), w(s)). The method further comprises defining an objective function of the type J=J(f, t, w), involving both f(t, w) and coordinates t, w of the coupling curve. Then, optimizing the objective function J makes it possible to obtain the target coupling curve. Finally, a ruled surface S(s, ?)=Q(w(s))+(1??)P(t(s)) is provided, according to the guiding curves P(t(s)) and Q(w(s)), composed with the coordinates t, w of the coupling curve previously obtained. The objective function is further constrained at the optimization step such that arguments t, w of the cost function f(t, w) are regulated by a regulation function ?.

  • Patent number: 7016821
Abstract: This invention presents a method and system for industrializing a designed part. This invention includes selecting a parting surface to divide the designed part, which includes a functional specification, into a first side and a second side, and selecting a draft angle. A change is computed in the first side and the second side using the selected draft angle. During the computation, the functional specification is maintained and the first side and second side meet on the parting surface. A face and a pulling direction can also be selected on the designed part. The selected face can be parallel to the pulling direction for the first side. Faces adjacent to the selected face can also be used in the computation. Once computed, the industrialized designed part can be displayed. An optimal blend draft method or a driving/driven blend draft method can be selected to compute the designed part.
