  • Publication number: 20150146648
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to communication networks and more specifically to methods and devices for data communication over a communication network. A method according to the invention comprises, at a transmitting node: obtaining a plurality of frames including first-type frames associated with an acknowledgment policy requiring acknowledgment and second-type frames associated with an acknowledgment policy requiring no acknowledgment; aggregating the frames of the obtained plurality of frames into an aggregated frame including at least one leading frame of second type and frames subsequent thereto, in an order depending on their associated acknowledgment policies; sending the aggregated frame to a receiving node; and sending an acknowledgment request frame to the receiving node to request it to acknowledge receipt of only subsequent frames of the aggregated frame.

  • Patent number: 8942140
Abstract: In order to parameterize, within a communication network, a bridge to be put in communication with at least one element to be connected to the bridge, the bridge comprising at least one created port, a parameter representing a predetermined waiting period and corresponding to a time for detection by the bridge, during a phase of listening to the data received by the at least one created port, of the presence of any communication loop within the network, is determined. A filtering of the at least one created port is activated, the filtering being adapted to prevent the sending and reception by the at least one created port of inter-bridge management messages. The bridge is configured with the parameter thus determined, a new port of the bridge is created with a view to setting up communication with the at least one element, and the filtering is deactivated.

  • Patent number: 8837472
Abstract: A method is disclosed for transmitting a multi-channel data stream comprising frames comprising a plurality of channels, the transmitting being done via a multi-transport tunnel from a first tunnel end-point to a second tunnel end-point, the multi-transport tunnel implementing at least one first carrier supporting a transport protocol with acknowledgement and at least one second carrier supporting a transport protocol without acknowledgement. More specifically, the invention proposes to introduce a delay in the sending of data (<<of high importance>>) via the first carrier as compared with the sending of data (<<of lesser importance>>) via the second carrier. Thus the invention guarantees the order of arrival of channels that are associated with a same piece of synchronization but are transmitted on distinct first and second carriers and come from the separation of a same multi-channel data frame.

  • Patent number: 8819532
Abstract: A data stream is transmitted from a transmitting device to a receiving device via a communication network. Data of the data stream is transmitted to the receiving device by using a transport protocol without data acknowledgement. In a transmission method, parity-encoding parameters for parity encoding a data set of the data stream is determined via the transmitting device. The transmitting device also generates parity data from the data set by using the determined parity-encoding parameters. The transmitting device further transmits the generated parity data to the receiving device via the communication network by using a transport protocol with data acknowledgement.

  • Patent number: 8812633
Abstract: A method is proposed for providing a remedy to the problem of address conflict when setting up a communications tunnel between a first tunnel end-point of a first communications sub-network and a second tunnel end-point of a second communications sub-network distinct from said first sub-network, in proposing an efficient method for the dynamic management of the address spaces of each sub-network, implemented by a tunnel end-point upon detection of a request for linking two sub-networks by a tunnel.

  • Publication number: 20140219256
Abstract: A method of accessing a communication medium used by a plurality of communication terminals, comprising the following steps, performed by a first communication terminal belonging to a group of communication terminals from the plurality of communication terminals: detecting 410 an upcoming reservation, by a second communication terminal of the group, of an occupancy time interval of the communication medium, determining 420 a timeslot in the occupancy time interval, and transmitting 460 data over the communication medium during the determined timeslot. • Publication number: 20140153514
Abstract: The invention is directed to the optimization of an access to a medium in wireless networks which can be accessed by a plurality of nodes, each node of the plurality of nodes using a medium access mechanism of the Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance type based on a computation of a backoff value. A specific value is associated with each node of a set of nodes of the plurality of nodes, the specific value of a node being known by the other nodes of the set of nodes. According to the invention, a backoff value is determined (505, 510) for each node of the set of nodes, in each node of the set of nodes, the backoff value associated with a node being determined as a function of the specific value associated with that node.

  • Publication number: 20140133495
Abstract: The method improves data exchange on a wireless communication medium accessible by a plurality of nodes via a contention mechanism, the plurality of nodes comprising legacy nodes and a collaborative group of nodes, each node of the collaborative group being provided with a first and a second MAC address. The method comprises, upon successful contention at a first node of the group, at the first node: determining if a communication from a source node of the group to a legacy node is required, and in such a case, selecting the second MAC address of the source node as source address for issuing a request to access the medium (RTS), and, upon reception of a medium access authorization (CTS): transmitting first data to the legacy node using said second MAC address, and transmitting second data inside the group using said first MAC address.

  • Patent number: 8169911
Abstract: Data of a stream to be stimulated is transmitted from a sender device to a receiver device through a network segment. An input device of the network segment determines a starting packet in transit (packets transmitted but not yet acknowledged by the receiver device), selects, as a function of a consumption of a target bandwidth for the stream, packets of the stream following the starting packet, temporarily stores selected packets received from the sender device, transmits to the sender device an anticipated positive acknowledgement message for each selected packet on behalf of the receiver device, transmits the selected packets to the receiver device, and discards stored selected packets corresponding to positive acknowledgements of transmitted selected packets.

  • Patent number: 7966491
Abstract: A central server in a network of a hybrid peer to peer type, receives a request from a client for obtaining a digital document, where the request contains a reference of the digital document. The server selects a peer system of the network likely to contain the digital document, and generates an access key for controlling access to the digital document by the client, where the access key is generated by an encrypting method using a private key of the central server, a current time when the encrypting method is executed and an address of the client on the network. The server then sends a message to the client, where the message has the reference of the digital document, an address of the selected peer system on the network and the generated access key.

  • Publication number: 20110141904
Abstract: A method is proposed for transmitting packets of a two-way passenger data stream set up between first and second terminal devices. The passenger stream is compliant with a passenger transport protocol with acknowledgement defining a plurality of packet categories, and is intended to be encapsulated by a manager device according to an encapsulating transport protocol with acknowledgement. The manager device obtains a packet of the passenger stream transmitted from the first terminal device to the second terminal device, makes a first check to see if the packet obtained belongs to at least one predetermined category among the plurality of packet categories and, in the event that the first check is positive, encapsulates at least one part of the data of the obtained packet according to an encapsulating transport protocol without acknowledgement.

  • Patent number: 7908345
Abstract: The access method comprises the following steps: selecting a first data item in a digital document designated by a predetermined identifier, said digital document comprising at least first and second data items linked to each other in a chosen hierarchical relationship; verifying the presence of at least one address of a location containing said second data item of the digital document in storage means of the client device; in the absence of said address in said storage means, seeking said address in the network; in the event of a positive search, storing said address in the storage means of the client device; and subsequently accessing said second data item of the document from the address thus stored by anticipation and thus immediately available locally.

  • Patent number: 7845000
Abstract: The invention relates to a central server stations controlling access to a collection of digital data created by a client station. The server station receives, from the client station, a request to validate a collection of digital data, where the request contains the collection which has a collection identifier and for each data item belonging to the collection, a data identifier designating said data item, and at least one representation of said data item, the representation being chosen depending on said data item and on the collection identifier. For each data identifier received, a representation of the data item is locally obtained depending on the data item and on the collection identifier of the received collection associated with the collection. A comparison is made between the received representation and the obtained local representation and, in a case where the comparison results in a match, the digital data item to be shared is validated.
