    Abstract: A mobile device may determine its location within an environment having a plurality of light sources in response to the unique frequencies and the predetermined locations of the light sources. For some embodiments, the mobile device can determine its location by detecting the frequencies of light signals emitted from the light sources, providing the determined frequencies as search keys to retrieve the predetermined locations of the light sources from a look-up table, detecting the intensity of light signals emitted from the light sources, correlating the light intensities to distances, and then calculating the position of the mobile device in response to the correlated distances and the predetermined locations of the light sources.
