  • Patent number: 11364664
Abstract: A method for forming at least a first primary droplet onto a primary fiber includes arranging part of the primary fiber into a reserve of liquid or viscous polymer based material so the primary fiber extends through and on both sides of the reserve. The primary fiber and/or the reserve move relative to each other so a first part of the primary fiber moves out from the reserve with a first primary velocity, forming a first primary layer of the liquid or viscous polymer based material onto the first part of the primary fiber. The first primary layer of the liquid or viscous polymer based material is allowed to form a first primary droplet onto the primary fiber holding the primary fiber relative to the reserve or moving the primary fiber and/or the reserve relative to each other with a first secondary velocity less than the first primary velocity.

  • Publication number: 20210146353
Abstract: A system for irradiating biological material includes a platform for holding the biological material and a radiation source for directing X-ray radiation to the biological material. The platform includes platform elements each including a chamber for containing the biological material. The platform includes a frame structure for mechanically supporting the platform elements and for mechanically supporting a gas-supply system for supplying gas to the platform elements. The gas-supply system can be for example a gas cartridge. The frame structure includes gas channels for receiving the gas from the gas-supply system and for conducting the gas to the platform elements so as to provide a desired gas composition in the chambers during irradiation of the biological material.

  • Patent number: 7141914
Abstract: A micromanipulator for positioning/localization of an operating instrument coupled therewith. The micromanipulator controls movement of the operating instrument in a single- or multi-axial system of coordinates with one or more electrical actuators. The electrical actuators are especially for providing a substantially elongated structure for the micromanipulator. The one or more actuators including a piezoelectric bender enable the positioning/localization of the operating instrument for providing at least one desired direction of motion.

  • Publication number: 20050006986
Abstract: The invention relates to a micromanipulator, which is intended for the positioning/localization of an operating instrument (1) coupled therewith, by controlling its movement in a single- or multi-axial system of coordinates, such as in the direction of an x-, y- and/or z-axis, by means of electrical actuators (2) present in the micromanipulator. Especially for providing a substantially elongated structure for the micromanipulator, one or more actuators (2; 2?) enabling the positioning/localization of the operating instruments (1), for providing at least one of its desired directions of motion, are implemented in the way of a piezoelectric bender (2?a).
