  • Patent number: 5810122
Abstract: A disk brake having a caliper (1) which straddles a disk (2), a carrier (3) fixed to the vehicle, a cylinder (4) secured to the caliper and closed by a piston (5) and two friction pads (10,11). Two cylindrical and mutually parallel guide pins which slide in corresponding housings. These housings being partially formed by bores (8, 9) made in the carrier (3) for maintaining the caliper (1) with the cylinder (4). The first bore (8), over first and second contiguous sections (s1, S2) of its length, has first and second respective inside diameters (D1, D2), the second diameter (D2) of which is greater than the first diameter (D1). The smaller diameter (D1) being formed on the same side of the first housing as the opening of the bore (8) and the first housing is formed, in addition to the first bore (8), from inside (130) a ring (13) made of elastomeric material.

  • Patent number: 5562187
Abstract: A disc brake having a caliper slidingly mounted on a fixed support and including two friction pads received with anchorage and sliding in the fixed support. The two friction pads frictionally engage opposite faces of a rotating disc in response to actuation of a brake motor carried by the caliper. The caliper slides with respect to the fixed support on at least one axial guide pin. The guide pin including a first part secured to the caliper or to the fixed support, and a second part received with and sliding in a corresponding bore of the fixed support or caliper, respectively. An elastic member is located between the axial guide pin and corresponding bore in which it slides. The second part of the guide pin consists of a tube made of an elastic material which has slits that extend through its thickness of the tube and over at least part of its length. The slits which are uniformly distributed along the periphery of the tube form equidistant thin strips having an equal width.

  • Patent number: 5558185
Abstract: A device for actuating a piston located in a cylinder of a disk brake. A push rod translationally secured to the piston is connected to a lever through a ball joint. The lever extend through an elongated opening in an end member secured to the cylinder. The end member has an inclined plane which forms a cam surface with respect to an axial plane of the cylinder. A roller member attached to the lever engages the inclined plane at a single point of engagement. An input force applied to the lever causes the roller member to move on the inclined plane and impart pure axial translational movement to the push rod to correspondingly move the piston within the cylinder and correspondingly effect an actuation of the disk brake.

  • Patent number: 5327724
Abstract: The invention relates to a master cylinder comprising a body (12) comprising a bore (14) in which slides, in leaktight manner, at least one piston (16, 18) movable between a rest position and at least one working position and defining at least one pressure chamber (20, 22) connected to an application fluid system, the piston (18) having a peripheral groove (44). According to the invention, a finger (42) actuated by an external mechanism (46) is capable of entering the groove (44) so as to lock the piston in one of its positions.

  • Patent number: 5082332
Abstract: The brake regulator for a motor vehicle, comprises a body (1) pierced with a bore in which an annular gasket (7) defines first and second chambers (2, 3), of which the first (2) is connected to the circuit of a master cylinder and the second (3) to at least one brake motor, and a valve-forming piston (8) movable in axial translational motion in an annular spacer (18) bearing against the annular gasket (7). The piston (8) has a diameter larger than that of the central orifice of the annular gasket (7) forming a valve seat, and is equipped with a pusher (9) which passes through the annular gasket (7) and the first chamber (2) and projects sealingly from the body (1). The assembly consisting of the annular gasket (7) and of the annular spacer (18) is mounted to be movable in axial translational motion, and the second chamber (3) also comprises an elastic mechanism (6) confined between the annular spacer (18) and the bottom of the bore.
