  • Patent number: 9528712
Abstract: A modulating burner system includes a speed control responsive to inputs received from a thermostat. The speed control modulating a blower which provides combustion air and a vacuum proportional to the speed of the blower. The modulating burner system further includes a gas amplifying valve in communication with the vacuum via a vacuum conduit. The gas amplifying valve providing modulated combustion gas responsive to the vacuum; wherein modulated combustion air and gas communicated to a burner for continuously variable firing rates of 50 to 100% of the maximum firing rate. The modulating burner system further includes control circuit dampers for smoothing out vacuum spikes and fluctuations.

  • Patent number: 7278418
Abstract: The present invention is a radiant heat deflector assembly for radiating heat on a surface, wherein the assembly includes; a radiant heat source radiating direct emissions, and at least one radiant heat deflector spaced from the heat source. The heat source is so positioned and configured to include radiating direct emissions onto the deflector, the deflector being so positioned, configured and sized as to reflect radiant emissions onto a surface thereby heating the surface. Preferably the heat source adapted to radiate useful direct emissions upwardly towards the deflector and downwardly toward the surface or onto a second deflector such that both direct emissions and reflected emissions heat the surface. Preferably the heat source including an emitter for producing direct radiant emissions and the emitter producing useful direct emissions from both a top surface and a bottom surface of the emitter such that both direct emissions and reflected emissions reach the surface.

  • Patent number: 6227451
Abstract: A radiant heater system of the type having an radiant energy emitter conduit, the radiant heater system comprising an emitter extending at least partly through the area to be heated. The radiant heater system further including a burner for burning fuel thereby forming combustion products, said burner connected to an inlet end of the emitter to inject thermal energy into the emitter and an exhaust end of the emitter serving to exhaust combustion products. The radiant heating system further including an air intake sleeve for controlling the amount of combustion air available to said burner, and a blower sized to provide dilution air communicating with said burner wherein the dilution air cools the combustion products proximate said inlet end thereby reduces the emitter temperature proximate said inlet end.

  • Patent number: 5989011
Abstract: The present invention, a burner control system for use with a radiant tube heating system having a source of compressed air and compressed fuel, the burner control system includes a burner for combustion of an air/fuel mixture; a mixing block for receiving and mixing air and fuel and communicating the combustible air and fuel mixture to the burner; the source of compressed air communicating air under pressure to the mixing block and to an air regulator; the air regulator, receiving air from the source of compressed air and for discharging and communicating pressure controlled air to a fuel regulator; and the fuel regulator for receiving fuel under pressure and discharging and communicating a pressure regulated supply of fuel to the mixing block, the fuel regulator also communicating with and operably connected to the pressure controlled air, wherein the pressure of the fuel communicated to said mixing block is controlled by and a function of the pressure controlled air communicated to said fuel regulator.
