  • Patent number: 7783696
Abstract: Service processors within a system are self-clustered. The system can also include an operating system or other software code, a management console, or both. The operating system communicates with the cluster of service processors, where the service processors are self-clustered or otherwise, such as through a memory shared by at least all the service processors. The operating system therefore need not be aware which of the service processors performs a given function. The console communicates with the cluster of service processors, where the service processors are self-clustered or otherwise, through any service processor of the cluster. The console therefore also need not be aware that the service processors have been clustered to perform functionality for the console.

  • Patent number: 6570992
Abstract: A mounting arrangement (1) for connecting an electrical device (2), typically a microphone, within a wireless telephone, is disclosed. The mounting arrangement comprises a housing (3) having an electrical device receiving portion (4). An enveloping portion (5) adapted to envelop the electrical device (2) is also provided, the enveloping portion (5) having at least two outwardly projecting retention tabs (6), the tabs adapted to co-operate and engage with corresponding retention portions (7) within the receiving portion (4). On full insertion of the enveloped electrical device within the receiving portion, the retention tabs engage with the retention portions, thereby securing the enveloping portion and enveloped electrical device within the receiving portion. Both the housing and the electrical device are provided with electrical terminals or connectors such that on securing the enveloped electrical device within the receiving portion electrical engagement between the inserted device and housing is effected.

  • Patent number: 6328592
Abstract: An insulation displacement electrical connector assembly is disclosed for electrically terminating the conductors of a multi-conductor insulated flat cable. A connector base has a plurality of terminal-receiving passages. A connector cover is positionable on the base to provide a cable-receiving passage therebetween. The cable-receiving passage traverses the terminal-receiving passages. Complementary interengaging latches are provided between the base and the cover to hold the base and cover together clamping the cable in the cable-receiving passage. A plurality of insulation displacement terminals are movably mounted in the terminal-receiving passages for movement between inactive positions out of engagement with the conductors of the cable and insulation-displacement positions piercing the insulation of the cable and electrically terminating the conductors.

  • Patent number: 6254416
Abstract: A vibrator motor holder for a wireless telephone vibrator motor is described. The holder is integrally formed on the I/O connector of the telephone. The holder comprises a device insertion cavity adapted to receive the vibrator motor. The inner walls of the cavity are dimensioned so as to correspond with the inserted vibrator motor, thereby ensuring a snug fit when the motor is contained therein. A locking piece is provided which is moveable across an entry port of the cavity. The obstruction of a portion of the entry port by the locking piece is sufficient to contain the motor within the cavity.

  • Patent number: 6062885
Abstract: An electrical switch assembly includes a first switch contact stamped and formed of sheet metal material and including a base. An integral spring contact arm is folded into cantilevered position back over the base. The spring contact arm has a distal end with a first contact surface facing away from the base. A second switch contact has a second contact surface facing the base of the first switch contact in position of opposing engagement with the first contact surface. Therefore, movement of the spring contact arm of the first switch contact toward the base thereof causes the first contact surface to move away from the second contact surface of the second switch contact.
