In response to detecting an event that impacts an availability of inventory in a market, a waitlist clearance processes may identify waitlisted reservation records that include a travel solution connecting an origin-destination pair in the market. Reservation records having travel solutions that are competing for available inventory may be grouped together, and the reservation records ranked within the group. Confirmation of waitlisted travel solutions in the highest ranked reservation record may be requested, and if availability is sufficient to accommodate the waitlisted travel solution, the waitlisted travel solution confirmed.

Abstract: An apparatus, program product and method delay finalization of a travel itinerary for an opaque booking until a point in time after the opaque booking is completed, such that the travel itinerary for the opaque booking may be reassessed prior to finalizing the travel itinerary. Reassessment of opaque booking travel itineraries may be performed using a global optimization that operates across multiple opaque bookings to attempt to generate travel itineraries that optimize revenue for one or more travel providers.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for managing the booking of travel inventory items at an inventory system. A booking request for a type of travel inventory item managed by the inventory system may be received at the inventory system. An expiration time may be determined based at least in part on the booking request, and a travel booking for a travel inventory item of the type may be confirmed based at least in part on the booking request. The inventory system may be updated based on the booked travel inventory item.
