Publication number: 20230380025Abstract: The electromagnetic shielding of the inductor comprises a main field-concentrating shielding composed of vertical columns, and the columns are composed of ferromagnetic blocks separated by non-magnetic gaps which contribute to increasing the magnetic reluctance in order to strongly reduce the heat losses. The main shielding is supplemented by an outer conductive casing which confines the residual field that has escaped from the main shielding. The shielding is compact, the mass of ferromagnetic material to be used is modest, autonomous cooling of the main shielding is unnecessary and the electromagnetic coupling between the casing and the main shielding reduces or even eliminates the effects on the electrical characteristics of the equipment.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2021Publication date: November 23, 2023Inventors: Etienne Rousset, Gilles Quidor, Patrice Brun

Patent number: 8753722Abstract: Angular sectors of a cylindrical wall of a crucible for vitrification of waste, built in steel and subject to high temperatures, are coated with a mixture of mainly glass and ceramic, the coating being subject to a heat treatment comprising a step between 650° C. and 850° C. so as to perform surface melting of the mixture filling the open porosity, improving dielectric strength and the cohesion of the coating, but without producing any excessive thermal expansion or oxidation of the substrate which would lead to fast flaking of the coating.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2009Date of Patent: June 17, 2014Assignee: Areva NCInventors: Patrice Brun, Geoffroy Berard, Jacques Lacombe

Patent number: 8182146Abstract: A temperature measurement tube is composite and comprises a rigid shaft (1), which is cooled so as to shield it from corrosion and from the melt, and an end-fitting (15) housing a thermocouple (9) on the end of the tube and constructed from a noble metal, which is resistant to corrosion and to the high melting point. An alumina coating (13) is placed between the two metals in order to prevent any corrosion-inducing electrochemical exchange between them.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2006Date of Patent: May 22, 2012Assignees: Areva NC, Commissariat a l'Energie AtomiqueInventors: Patrice Brun, Jean-Francois Hollebecque, Jacques Lacombe, Valerie Petitjean

Patent number: 8119908Abstract: The electricity transmission device comprises prolonged rigid conductors made of copper, and also a connector comprising a network of flexible elements, such as brazed tubes with cooling channels for the conductors, that enables angular displacements between the successive segments and therefore gives a flexibility absorbing small displacements of the device. A lifting manoeuvre system is associated with the segments. The segments may be joined to other elements of the device through connections with jaws enabling slipping.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 2007Date of Patent: February 21, 2012Assignees: Areva NC, Commissariat a l'Energie AtomiqueInventors: Jacques Lacombe, Patrice Brun, Thierry Flament, Eric Chauvin, Antony Prod'Homme

Publication number: 20090265131Abstract: One proceeds with indirect measurement of the temperature of a molten bath (1) of a viscous material such as glass by measuring a parameter such as the motor torque of a rotating mechanical stirrer (3) or the heating power extracted from its coolant water. One thereby dispenses with direct measurement of the temperature by a rod provided with a thermocouple and subject to difficult operating conditions.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2007Publication date: October 22, 2009Applicant: AREVA NCInventors: Patrice Brun, Jacques Lacombe, Yann Papin

Patent number: 7004845Abstract: A manufacturing process of a clinch nut consists in forming a recess zone in a rough casting by cold heading so as to obtain a rough part. The rough part then undergoes a thermal annealing treatment followed by a cold heading operation enabling a bore to be formed designed to contain an internal thread. The internal thread is preferably achieved by tapping by upsetting material from the bore of the nut.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2004Date of Patent: February 28, 2006Assignee: Bollhoff Otalu s.a.Inventor: Patrice Brun

Patent number: 6996153Abstract: Vertical segments of a side wall of a crucible for an induction furnace are assembled at an adjustable, invariable position by screws screwed into tapped holes of a flange common to all segments. A precise assembly is thus obtained producing no deformation and no internal stresses. The segments are coated with a ceramic coating for their protection and to prevent formation of electric arcs. Junction edges of faces are rounded to achieve the same effect. Water cooling boxes of the lower furnace hearth are similarly constructed. The apparatus can, as an example, be applied to vitrification techniques.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2003Date of Patent: February 7, 2006Assignees: Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique, Compagnie Generale des Matieres NucleairesInventors: Patrice Brun, Jacques Lacombe, Christian Ladirat, Francis Bousquet
