Patent number: 12235153Abstract: A system for controlling the activation/deactivation of an electromagnetic shielding screen of a porthole or a protective window of an optoelectronic equipment, which includes, a radiofrequency electromagnetic sensor, with a bandwidth adapted to a cut-off band of said shielding screen corresponding to a range of electromagnetic fields to be blocked, connected to a detector-rectifier with a sensitivity higher than a minimum value of the power of an electromagnetic field to be blocked by means of said shielding screen and a device for activating/deactivating said electromagnetic shielding screen, said detector-rectifier being configured, in the presence of the electromagnetic field with a power exceeding said minimum value, to activate said device for activating/deactivating the electromagnetic shielding screen by capturing the electromagnetic energy supplied by said electromagnetic fields with a power exceeding said minimum value.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2022Date of Patent: February 25, 2025Assignees: CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE, UNIVERSITE DE RENNES, SAFRAN ELECTRONICS & DEFENSEInventors: Quentin Tricas, Patrice Foutrel, Philippe Besnier, Xavier Castel, Claire Le Paven

Publication number: 20240431082Abstract: A self-adaptive shielding device is suitable for a lens or a window of a piece of equipment provided with an electrically conductive enclosure containing an optical or RF sensor. The device includes a shielding screen having a switchable RF shielding mesh of micrometric pitch at least partially surrounded by a border of insulator-metal transition material arranged between the mesh and an electrically conductive envelope. A susceptor element is arranged facing the insulator-metal transition material and transforms incident electromagnetic energy (RFH) into activation heat for the insulator-metal transition material. The susceptor element causes a transition to the conductive state of the insulator-metal transition material under the action of the electromagnetic energy so as to electrically connect the mesh to the electrically conductive envelope when the incident electromagnetic energy exceeds a given threshold.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2022Publication date: December 26, 2024Applicants: CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE, UNIVERSITE DE RENNES 1, SAFRAN ELECTRONICS & DEFENSEInventors: Quentin TRICAS, Patrice FOUTREL, Xavier CASTEL, Claire LE PAVEN, Philippe BESNIER

Publication number: 20230299214Abstract: An optically transparent electromagnetic shielding assembly exhibiting a shielding efficiency that is increased when a conducting or polarizable fluid produces a low electrical impedance value between a periphery and a central region of a window. Such shielding assembly is useful in detection systems that are exposed to varying intensities of electromagnetic radiation, such as microwave radiation.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2021Publication date: September 21, 2023Applicants: SAFRAN ELECTRONICS & DEFENSE, UNIVERSITE DE RENNES 1, CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE - CNRSInventors: Quentin TRICAS, Patrice FOUTREL, Philippe BESNIER, Xavier CASTEL, Claire LE PAVEN

Patent number: 11563128Abstract: A shielding element comprises a rigid substrate and at least one electrically conductive two-dimensional structure which is placed on one of the faces of the substrate. The substrate and the electrically conductive two-dimensional structure are such that the shielding element has optical-transmission and shielding-efficiency values at least one of which varies between two zones of the shielding element. Such a shielding element enables easier assembly of a detection system comprising multiple optical sensors.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2021Date of Patent: January 24, 2023Assignees: SAFRAN ELECTRONICS & DEFENSE Boulogne, CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE—CNRS, UNIVERSITE DE RENNES 1Inventors: Cyril Dupeyrat, Patrice Foutrel, Philippe Besnier, Xavier Castel, Yonathan Corredores

Patent number: 11060920Abstract: An optically transparent electromagnetic shield assembly comprising an electrical connection device with variable electrical resistance. The electrical connection device electrically connects a conductive two-dimensional structure, which covers a transparent substrate, to a shell portion which is electrically conductive. The resistance of the connection device can be adjusted, either initially for a detection system for which the shield assembly is intended or in real time while the shield assembly is in use, according to an RF radiation intensity.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2018Date of Patent: July 13, 2021Assignees: SAFRAN ELECTRONICS & DEFENSE, CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE - CNRS, UNIVERSITE DE RENNES 1Inventors: Cyril Dupeyrat, Patrice Foutrel, Philippe Besnier, Xavier Castel, Yonathan Corredores
