Abstract: A method and a device for downloading an audiovisual content from a data network. A description file describing the sub-dividing of the audiovisual content into a set of segments includes at least two pieces of information representative of respectively two segment download paths, each piece of information representative of a download path being associated with a network interface, and at least two network interfaces being distinct. The downloading device obtains at least one piece of information on distribution of requests for downloading segments by network interface, and for at least one segment of the audiovisual content to be downloaded, it selects a network interface from among the network interfaces associated with the download paths included in the description file, as a function of the information on distribution of requests obtained. A segment download request is then sent via the selected network interface.

Abstract: A method for selecting at least one image portion to be downloaded anticipatorily in order to render an audiovisual stream by a rendering device. The method includes: determining the location of a sound source in a spatialized audio component of the audiovisual content, determining a future observation direction on the basis of the determined location, selecting at least one portion of the image on the basis of the determined future observation direction, and downloading the at least one selected image portion.

Abstract: A method for composing an intermediate representation of a video sequence from at least two representations of the video sequence of different quality, spatially partitioned into a plurality of tiles, each tile being associated with compressed data in the representation. The tiles can be decoded independently of each other and, at a given time, the different representations are identically partitioned. When the sequence is being played on a playback device, the method includes: obtaining a context data item representing the activity of viewers located near the playback device; selecting, on the basis of the context data item obtained and at least one maximum rate criterion for the intermediate representation resulting from the composition, a set of tiles forming a partition of the sequence from the at least two representations; and composing an intermediate representation of the video sequence from the compressed data associated with the selected set of tiles.

Abstract: Processing a request for delivery of data sent by a customer terminal to a remote server via a telecommunication network. The terminal accesses the network by at least two links of distinct access types. The data is encoded in a stream with a predetermined bit rate, which is cut into segments. Processing includes, for a segment of the stream: determining a sub-segment size based on the number of links and a size of the data stream to be delivered; calculating a partitioning of the segment into sub-segments according to the set size and a distribution of the sub-segments on the plurality of links, according to a scheduling of the sub-segments in the partitioning and a time constraint; and sending a plurality of sub-segment transmission requests to the server over the plurality of links, each request including an identifier of the segment and indexes of a sub-segment start and end.

Abstract: A method for processing encoded data representative of a sequence of digital frames for transmission to client equipment by a client via a communication network. The method includes the following steps, implemented following encoding of a current frame of the sequence: obtaining encoded data representative of the current frame; extracting at least one information representative of an encoding structure of the current frame; updating a transport container by inserting encoded data representative of the current frame into a predetermined location; updating a metadata container, by inserting the at least one information of encoding structure and information representative of the location of the encoded data in the transport container; and transmitting to the client equipment the second container. Upon receipt of a request from the client equipment, including a information representative of the location of the data, transmitting the encoded data of the transport container corresponding to the location.

The method includes, for a current group: a) forming a main group including original images partitioned into spatial areas and including a watermarking zone; b) obtaining a main bitstream representing an area-based encoding of the images of the main group, in which for an area other than the watermarking area, the pixels of that zone are not predicted with reference to pixels in the watermarking area; c) for the watermarking area: forming a secondary group of images having the same temporal dimension as the main group and spatial dimensions equal to those of the watermarking area, inserting a first watermarking information value into the secondary group, and obtaining a first secondary bitstream representing images of the encoded secondary group including the first watermarking information value; and d) transmitting the main and first secondary bitstreams in the telecommunication network to a client.

Abstract: Some embodiments relate to a method for downloading content to a first terminal from a server. The first terminal may intercept a request to download content previously sent by the first terminal to the server, discover a second terminal connected to the terminal via a local network, and receive from the second terminal a message offering to share a wide-area telecommunications network, the message containing an identifier of a port associated with the second terminal. The first terminal may determine at least one data segment of the content to be downloaded depending on the offer of sharing, establish communication and transmit, via the local network, to the port of the second terminal, a request to download the determined segment, receive from the second terminal the segment, which has previously been obtained by the second terminal following connection of the second terminal to the server via the wide area network.

Abstract: A method is provided for presenting a catalog of multimedia contents transmitted by a server to a communications terminal, in response to a request sent by the terminal. The method includes adapting the catalog as a function of at least one first piece of information representing a current transmission channel and/or an available effective bit rate, so as to present to the terminal only multimedia contents capable of being transmitted to the terminal at a given point in time.
