  • Patent number: 11489685
Abstract: Various methods, apparatuses/systems, and media for generating a meeting efficiency index are disclosed. A receiver receives a request from an organizer to organize a meeting. A processor, operatively connected to the receiver via a communication network, accesses a database to obtain management data, organizational behavior data, and psychological data corresponding to the requested meeting in response to the received request. The processor applies an algorithm to combine the obtained management data, organizational behavior data, and the psychological data to determine a meeting efficiency index (MEI) for the requested meeting. The MEI is a normalized measure to determine how effective the meeting will be in achieving its purpose. The processor causes a graphical user interface (GUI) to display the MEI in conjunction with calendar item and receive input data whether to accept or reject the meeting based on the MEI.

  • Publication number: 20080227510
Abstract: A game apparatus for play by at least two players, having game pieces that are manually placed in at least four slideably mounted, apertured slats, each having at least four apertures for receiving one or more of the game pieces, and a base assembly for slideably mounting the slats, such that the slats can be moved, and the game pieces placed in the apertures, at the option of each of the players who take turns in playing the game. The game pieces are generally grouped in two different colors. The number of slats are generally the same as the number of apertures, and are preferably four or eight in number. The method of play by two players of apparatus involves each of the players taking turns that are selected from two possible moves: placing a game piece in one of the apertures on one of the slats or linearly displacing one of the slats one stop. The game commences with no pieces on the board, and with no home area for determining opening and winning of the game.

  • Publication number: 20080050363
Abstract: This invention relates to novel nucleic acid molecules coding for opioid growth factor receptors. In particular, the present invention provides isolated nucleic acid molecules coding for human and rat OGF receptors. Antisense molecules, expression vectors and host cells, isolated proteins encoded by such nucleic acid molecules, antibodies directed against such proteins, as well as pharmaceutical compositions derived therefrom are also included. The invention further provides methods of modulating cell growth by using the isolated nucleic acid molecules, the antisense molecules and the antibodies directed against the encoded proteins.

  • Publication number: 20070053838
Abstract: The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions for treating neoplasias in an animal or human comprised of a carrier and therapeutically effective amounts of at least one chemotherapeutic agent along with the biotherapeutic endogenous pentapeptide Met-enkephalin, referred to as opioid growth factor. Also provided are methods of treating neoplasias in an animal or human in need of such treatment, comprising the administration to the animal or human therapeutically effective amounts of a pharmaceutical composition comprised of a carrier and therapeutically effective amounts of at least one neoplasia-treating agent, such as a chemotherapeutic agent or radiation, along with opioid growth factor.

  • Patent number: 5896869
Abstract: An electroetching method for removing excess silver-copper braze material from the edges of I/O pads during the manufacture of chip carriers for microelectronic devices, and the product thereby produced, are disclosed. The disclosed method is preferably self-limiting, such that braze material is preferentially removed from all regions of the assembly. The method is particularly useful for producing a desirable sidewall profile, size, and extent of coverage of the I/O pad for the fillet of braze material surrounding the base of pins in a pin grid array device. Agitation control is important for producing the desired uniformity and profile.

  • Patent number: 4138605
Abstract: A row of thick-film resistors connected by thick-film conductors on a ceramic substrate are suitably powered to form a thermal printing head. Thermally-sensitive paper is placed in intimate contact with the resistors, some of which are heated to a temperature sufficient to cause a color change in the paper to thereby produce a corresponding array of dots. The paper is moved across the printing head in incremental steps, forming other arrays of dots. The dots combine to form alphanumeric characters.
