  • Publication number: 20160185258
Abstract: The Pelzer Lift provides accessibility to a vehicle for handicapped people and others. It may comprise a vehicle seat, mounted on a telescopic trolley-like system with a hydraulic lift. The vehicle itself can include gull-wing doors for easy entry and exit. When the doors are open, the vehicle seat can move in and out of the vehicle along the extended trolley system. Once outside the vehicle, users can engage the hydraulic lift to move the seat up or down. The seat can also turn in a 360-degree rotation if needed. Once seated, users can return the seat to the appropriate height and slide into the vehicle. They can then retract the trolley system and close the vehicle door. Once inside, the seat can be adjusted in any direction for maximum comfort. The seat can include a control panel for ease of operation.

  • Patent number: 5404501
Abstract: A method for communicating between processes in a data processing system comprising a plurality of processor hosts each coupled to a network and a plurality of processes resident on different ones of said processor hosts, wherein messages are transmitted from one process to another in a logical ring. A message-holding queue is maintained at any host originating a message transmission, and it contains a copy of the message, an identifier of the initiating processor host, and an identifier of the target processor host. A forward notification message is returned to the originating host from a forwarding host when the forwarding host relays the message to another host, and an identical forward notification message is returned to the originating host by the target host when it receives the message.
