    Abstract: A computer system-based method and system for modeling, planning and analyzing distributed systems in view of environmental considerations in the deployment of said distributed system is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of representing selected ones of a plurality of components and relationships among selected components with said distributed system, wherein said representation includes attributes and characteristics associated with environmental considerations, identifying a location of each of said selected components in said distributed system determining an environmental aspect of each of said identified locations, and providing a recommendation based on said environmental aspects. In one aspect of the invention, an analysis is performed that determines a cause of changes in environmental conditions and a recommendation is made to correct the cause of the environment changes.
