  • Publication number: 20090306250
Abstract: A construction material that includes gypsum and a heat fusion catalyst which includes polyvinyl acetate and a polymer, plus a chemical agent for maintaining a stable emulsion of the polyvinyl acetate and polymer. Cement and/or aggregate materials may be added to the gypsum. The material may be prepared by mixing the catalyst with the powder portion, and then either molding it into a building panel or applying it as a coating on a building member.

  • Patent number: 5942562
Abstract: A high temperature thermal insulation has a dry mixture which includes cement, gypsum and a special particulate material having small particles which exhibit good insulating properties. The particles have a low density polymeric core covered by a chemically inert coating such as calcium carbonate. A special liquid catalyst is added to the dry mixture to cause the particles to be bound together with the cement and gypsum. The cement and gypsum cover and protect the particles from melting due to elevated temperatures, and the particles are thus able to resist heat transfer in high temperature applications.

  • Patent number: 4304704
Abstract: A thermal insulating material which includes silicone coated perlite providing thermal insulation, powdered perlite to fill in the gaps between the silicone coated perlite particle, and a specially formulated binder for the perlite. The binder has a powder portion comprising a mixture of gypsum and cement for strength and a liquid portion comprising polyvinyl acetate, a colloid and water. After these materials are mixed in proper proportions, water is added to provide the fluidity necessary for application, such as by spraying or molding into prefabricated panels.
