The plantain may be utilized in powdered form in an aqueous paste or poultice, or in a crème base or ointment that is applied to the skin for various periods of time from 1 to 10 hours at a frequency of 1-12 times per week, for a period of 3-50 weeks or more. The composition is effective to remediate dermal scarring and wrinkling, and at least partially restore skin to an undamaged, undeteriorated state.
