  • Publication number: 20070244411
Abstract: Method and system for monitoring intracranial pressure. According to an embodiment, the present invention provides a method for monitoring intracranial pressure (ICP) for at least one patient. The method includes positioning an ear probe into an ear canal. The method further includes measuring a first acoustic reflectance using the ear probe at a first time. The first acoustic reflectance is associated with the ear canal as a function of an incident pressure and an acoustic frequency. The method additionally includes processing information associated with the first acoustic reflectance. The method also includes determining a first ICP value based on at least the information associated the first acoustic reflectance. Furthermore, the method includes measuring a second acoustic reflectance using the ear probe at a second time.

  • Publication number: 20070219458
Abstract: Method and system for determining hearing status. According to an embodiment, the present invention provides a method for ear screening. The method includes providing a probe that includes at least two output channels and an input channel. The method also includes determining a plurality of probe parameters for the probe. The plurality of parameters is related to at least a frequency response associated with the probe. In addition, the method includes performing a power measurement that includes at least outputting a first wide band stimulus from the two output channels of the probe to an ear canal. The method further includes obtaining a plurality of power parameters associated from the power measurement. The plurality of power parameters includes at least a pressure frequency response and an acoustic reflectance.

  • Publication number: 20060083395
Abstract: Method and system for automatically adjusting a hearing aid. The method includes measuring an acoustic reflectance associated with an ear canal as a function of an incident pressure and an acoustic frequency, processing information associated with the measured acoustic reflectance, determining a reflectance slope based on, at least, information associated with the measured acoustic reflectance, and adjusting, at least, one parameter associated with the hearing aid based on, at least, information associated with the reflectance slope. The reflectance slope is associated with a reflectance component varying with the incident pressure.
