  • Patent number: 4731442
Abstract: A bis(o-diamine) is reacted with a bis(benziloxy)-2,2'-bis(arylethynyl)biphenyl to provide a qunioxaline polymer having pendant phenylethynyl groups. These polymers can be cured to provide thermally stable polymer compositions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 2, 1986
Date of Patent: March 15, 1988
Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Air Force
Inventors: Patricia M. Lindley, Bruce A. Reinhardt, Fred E. Arnold
  • Patent number: 4683340
Abstract: Bis(benzilyloxy) compounds having the general formula ##STR1## wherein Ph is --C.sub.6 H.sub.5 and Ar is Ph, --C.sub.6 H.sub.4 Br, --C.sub.6 H.sub.4 CH.sub.3 or --C.sub.6 H.sub.4 C.sub.2 H.sub.5. These compounds can be reacted with bis(o-diamines) to form polyquinoxalines which can be converted to thermally stable compositions by non-volatile, intramolecular cyclization.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 8, 1986
Date of Patent: July 28, 1987
Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Air Force
