  • Publication number: 20220100930
Abstract: The present disclosure describes systems and methods for mapping a planar surface to a curved surface. One such method comprises providing a planar lattice pattern having identical regular polygon shapes which can be truss support modules for supporting a curved surface structure. Method further include determining respective positions of the nodal points of the identical polygon shapes by placing a starting nodal point on an axis of symmetry of the planar lattice pattern and iteratively positioning each nodal point in relation to already placed neighboring nodes to make a distance between a currently positioned nodal point optimally close with a set value of the planar lattice pattern. Method still further comprises forming a curved lattice pattern of the truss support module based on the positions of the nodal points of the identical polygon shapes.

  • Publication number: 20190197789
Abstract: Augmented-reality systems provide additional information to users, beyond what they can normally perceive with their own senses. Embodiments of the invention establish “cover objects” having an identifiable visual appearance, and provide systems and infrastructure to deliver the additional information to multiple users via a live digital-camera image when each user directs his or her camera at the cover object. Different users may receive different additional information when scanning the same cover object at the same time, and a single user may receive different additional information when scanning the same cover object at different times. Methods and systems for accomplishing this are described, and a number of applications using the capabilities of such systems are suggested.

  • Patent number: 9337953
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling data transfer between a data providing device and an aircraft equipment. The method includes operating in a device mode, wherein the device mode allows the transfer of data between the data providing device and a storage medium of an intermediate device and disallows the transfer of data between the aircraft equipment and the storage medium. The method also includes operating in an avionics mode, wherein the avionics mode allows the transfer of data between the aircraft equipment and the storage medium and disallows the transfer of data between the data providing device and the storage medium. Furthermore, the method includes no more than one of operating in the device mode or operating in the avionics mode occurring at any particular time.

  • Publication number: 20150220537
Abstract: Systems to manage the collection of multimedia and physical-sensor data automatically strike a balance between resources utilized to perform the collection, and the usefulness of the data recorded. The recorded data may be augmented with additional data or data streams, and the resulting dataset is automatically composited to produce an audience presentation focusing on selected aspects of the full dataset. The same source dataset may be composited differently to produce another presentation with a different purpose, theme or focus.

  • Publication number: 20150019400
Abstract: Flexible payment loan methods and systems are provided. When approved for a flexible payment loan, a user may skip making loan payments in a set of loan skipping periods without penalty. The set of loan skipping payment periods may be predetermined and may comprise the summer months of July and August. Interest may continue to accrue in the loan skipping periods when the user skips payments. In each review period, the condition of a flexible payment loan is validated. A user may continuously skip payments only if the flexible payment loan is in good standing.

  • Publication number: 20120193102
Abstract: A subsea connection system includes a support unit with a first connector and a distribution unit including an external frame to be landed on and supported by the support unit and an inner frame that is movable within the external frame. An outwardly facing connector may be connected via a long umbilical to a remote platform. Nevertheless, a nearby installation may be controlled via a short umbilical from another connector and thus the nearby installation does not require a long umbilical connected to the remote platform.

  • Patent number: 6070013
Abstract: An image capture package, such as a one-time use camera, has a capture member bearing an encodement for an image transmogrification. The capture member captures images free of the image transmogrification. The image capture package has a sighting guide associated with the capture member. The sighting guide identifies a region of the captured images that is subject to the image transmogrification. A photography system includes a plurality of the image capture packages and a processing system that digitally modifies the captured images responsive to respective encodements.

  • Patent number: 5596415
Abstract: Locations of respective image frames contained on an image recording, such as a continuous color photographic film strip scanned by digitizing opto-electronic scanner are identified by storing scanline data produced by the scanner in a digital database, and processing the stored scanline data in accordance with set of image frame identification operators, which iteratively identify locations of nominally valid frames, beginning with the identification of all well formed frames. Each well formed frame has prescribed image frame attributes including at least a spatial region of image modulance bounded by leading and trailing edges adjacent to Dmin interframe gaps. The iterative identification procedure includes `chopping` less than well formed frames, sorting frame regions based upon geometry considerations and identifying and adjusting the size of oversized and undersize frames.
