  • Publication number: 20130103088
Abstract: Segmental spinous process implant systems and methods of use are provided for coupling to one or more spinal processes of a cervical, thoracic, and/or lumbar spine. Embodiments of the segmental spinous process implant system include a support member coupled to one or more offset connector. The support member extends adjacent to vertebrae of a cervical, thoracic, and/or lumbar spine. The offset connector extends from the support member between adjacent spinous processes of the spine and supports a pair of spinous process connectors that secure the implant to a spinous process of a vertebra of the spine.

  • Publication number: 20060133019
Abstract: According to one embodiment of the invention, a latch assembly comprises a plurality of latches configured to engage with a plurality of latch sockets appropriately situated at corners of an electronic device. A release mechanism is adapted to secure and subsequently release the plurality of latches from the plurality of latch sockets. The release mechanism includes a spring-biased release button, and a plurality of links rotationally coupled to the release button. The first link is adapted to prevent vertical movement of the first latch when the first link is placed in a first position caused when the cover is placed in a closed position. When the release button is depressed, the first link is placed into a second position to allow the cover to be opened.

  • Publication number: 20060036580
Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically updating queries on a data store, such as a personal content database (PCDB), are provided. A query engine runs queries against two indexes: a first index that represents a previous state of documents and a second index that represents a current state of documents. The query is run twice and a delta analysis is performed, i.e., a determination is made as to which documents have changed in some respect from the previous state to the current state, and a view or a count associated with at least one query changes in accordance with the delta analysis. Transactions may be batched dynamically by a transaction manager until an optimal number of documents have changed or a certain amount of time has passed prior to re-running the query and performing the delta analysis.

  • Publication number: 20050198076
Abstract: Systems and methods for query processing and indexing of documents in connection with a content store in a computing system are provided. In various embodiments, an indexing model is provided that is optimized for fast, efficient and scalable retrieval of documents satisfying a query, including the mixed use of forward and inverted indexing representations, including algorithms for achieving a balance between the two representations. When processing queries, fast and efficient generation of reverse chronologically ordered posting lists is enabled for efficient execution of logical operators on query result sets. A term expand index is also provided wherein the overall terms included in the term expand index are decomposed into a plurality of lexicon files, which are combined when convenient for fast, scalable efficiency when performing queries of the content in the content store.

  • Publication number: 20050172818
Abstract: An apparatus for making espresso coffee is described. The apparatus comprises a support frame (2) upon which an open-topped cylinder (3) is vertically mounted. A pot containing a quantity of ground coffee may be attached to the base of the cylinder, and the frame (2) and cylinder (3) provide sufficient space to insert a cup or cups below the pot. A piston with a piston head (22) is adapted to fit in the cylinder (3) and a pair of levers (6, 7) pivoted to the frame and pivotally linked to the piston enable the piston head to move up and down in the cylinder (3) by actuation of the levers (6, 7). In use, hot water is poured into the cylinder (3) and downward pressure on the levers (6, 7) expels the hot water under pressure through the ground coffee and the freshly made coffee passes out of an outlet in the base of the pot and into a waiting cup.

  • Publication number: 20050144241
Abstract: A search-based email client may incorporate a number of useful features. A search function can default to a search of all email contexts, thereby eliminating user cogitation over which context an email message may be stored in. Furthermore, the search function can automatically search for related personal content and/or related information on the internet or other computer network, and present this useful information to the user in addition to the returned emails. The search function can be integrated into a user interface to allow for one-click searches on any likely search field. The search function can search the body of email messages by default, thereby widening the scope of default searches and eliminating potentially missed information and user need to proactively widen their search. A search function can search attachments, which also provides a wider search scope.

  • Patent number: 6352025
Abstract: A solder printing apparatus (40) for use within a solder printer (34) includes a vision and alignment mechanism (44), a steering mechanism (46), a vacuum conveyer (48), and a tension roller assembly (42). The vision and alignment mechanism (44) controls the position of the flexible tape (10) and sends a signal to the steering mechanism (46). The steering mechanism (46) adjusts the position of the flexible tape (10) in response to receiving the signal from the vision and alignment mechanism (44). The vacuum conveyer (48) holds and advances the flexible tape (10). The tension roller assembly (42) maintains tension in the flexible tape (10).

  • Patent number: 5713176
Abstract: A combination C-shaped or U-shaped metal and composite construction stud for commercial and residential types of buildings. The stud may be made of various gauge galvanized structural or non-structural steel and has an insert made of softer material located at strategically placed points on the stud. Such softer materials may include wood, composite materials, plastic or fiberglass combinations. Pointed fastening devices such as nails and/or screws may then be used to fasten other structural components to the stud such as wall panels and other commonly used materials. Nails may be used at the blocking points of the stud and screws where there is no blocking.

  • Patent number: 4427820
Abstract: The production is described of a dispersion of polymer microparticles, which may optionally be crosslinked, by dispersion polymerisation in aliphatic hydrocarbon liquid under specified conditions of a monomer mixture which comprises up to 50% of styrene or a substituted derivative thereof and up to 50% by weight of a derivative of maleic acid or fumaric acid which is soluble in the hydrocarbon liquid at the polymerization temperature. The microparticles have a size in the range 100-400 nm and a high refractive index, and are suitable for incorporation in coating compositions which are based on a film-forming polymer, such as a thermosetting acrylic resin or an alkyd resin, containing a significant proportion of aromatic residues, and which are intended to be used either unpigmented or when containing only light-absorbing pigments.
