  • Publication number: 20230228113
Abstract: A swimming pool wall, and method for forming same, including a plurality of layers of reinforced composite material. Each layer includes a thermoplastic resin and a plurality of elongate glass strands of reinforcing material. A first set of the plurality of layers has the strands running in a first direction, and a second set of the plurality of layers has the strands running in a second direction. The first direction is offset in angle from the second direction, and the first and second set of layers are fused together to form a unitary composite wall. The pool wall permits the use of a composite material which provides sufficient strength and resists degradation. The wall structure may be a plurality of interconnected panels both arcuate and arcuate and planar in shape to determine the overall shape of the composite wall enclosing an area where water or ice is retained.

  • Publication number: 20230087358
Abstract: Measuring a concentration of at least one target species is described. A first and second tunable diode laser are configured to generate laser light at a respective wavelength different from one another. A pitch head comprising a transmitting optic is optically coupled to the first and second tunable diode lasers via distal ends of the first and second optical fibers, and is oriented to project respective beams from each of the first and second distal ends through a measurement zone. A photodetector is configured to detect an optical power of light in the first and second wavelengths. A catch head located across the measurement zone from the pitch head is in optical communication with the pitch head to receive the respective beams from the first and second distal ends and direct the respective beams to the photodetector.

Abstract: A swimming pool wall, and method for forming same, including a plurality of layers of reinforced composite material. Each layer includes a thermoplastic resin and a plurality of elongate glass strands of reinforcing material. A first set of the plurality of layers has the strands miming in a first direction, and a second set of the plurality of layers has the strands miming in a second direction. The first direction is offset in angle from the second direction, and the first and second set of layers are fused together to form a unitary composite wall. The principles of hoop strength applicable to the swimming pool wall also apply to other cylindrical structures needing hoop strength arising from pressures inside or outside the cylindrical structure. The wall structure may be a plurality of interconnected panels both arcuate and arcuate and planar in shape to determine the overall shape of the composite wall enclosing an area where water or ice is retained.

  • Patent number: 11513069
Abstract: Systems for measuring a concentration of a target species include a first and second tunable diode laser generating laser light at a respective first and second wavelength each corresponding to respective absorption lines of the target species. A first optical fiber is optically coupled to the first tunable diode laser, and does not support a fundamental mode at the second wavelength. A second optical fiber is coupled to the second tunable diode laser and does not support a fundamental mode at the first wavelength. A fiber bundle includes respective distal ends of the first and second optical fibers, which are stripped of their respective coatings and arranged with their claddings adjacent to each other. A pitch head is configured to project respective optical beams from the fiber bundle through a measurement zone. • Patent number: 11468707
Abstract: Techniques of automatic image classification and modification in computing systems are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method includes scanning an inbox on email servers for emails containing image files. Upon detecting that an email in the inbox contains an image file, the method includes retrieving an identification photo of a user from a data store. The method also includes determining, via facial recognition, whether the image file in the email contains at least a partial image of the user based on the retrieved identification photo. In response to determining that the image file in the email contains at least a partial image of the user, a metadata value is inserted into the image file indicating that the image file contains at least a partial image of the user before the image file is stored in the inbox on the one or more email servers.

  • Patent number: 10810204
Abstract: Access to attachments of electronic messages and information associated with the electronic messages to applications external to a messaging application is provided. A message including an attachment is received via a messaging application, and a relationship connecting the message to the attachment is stored in a graph database. When a request is made to display a file list, an API is used to interact with the graph database. Attachments that meet a criterion associated with the file list and associated metadata are included in the list. Responsive to a selection to open an attachment, a productivity application communicates with the messaging application to retrieve the attachment and associated messages, and displays the attachment in a content display region and associated messages and messaging application functionalities in a communications pane in a single productivity application user interface.
