  • Patent number: 11887726
Abstract: Centralized systems execute one or more applications for monitoring and operating a plurality of network enabled medical devices. An indication to start a selected application at the centralized system or at a network enabled medical device is received at the centralized system/network enabled medical device. The selected application may require a license to operate and, at the time the indication is received, may have a first license available. Instead of using the first license, the centralized system/network enabled medical device may determine to inherit at least a portion of a second license to operate the selected application. The centralized system/network enabled medical device may inherit at least the portion of the second license to form an inherited license, where the inherited license enables features of the selected application. Using the inherited license, the selected application is started with the enabled features. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

  • Patent number: 11626205
Abstract: A system and method for providing updates to medical devices is disclosed. In one example, the medical devices are configured to pull update files in response to the reception of an update message from a server. Once the update files are downloaded by a medical device, the update files can be installed. While the medical device pulls the update files, the medical device can continue with its normal operation. If desired, a user can select which medical devices should be updated, based on any desired factors, such as the physical location of the device, the model of the device, the type of device, and the way the device is being used.

  • Publication number: 20220409922
Abstract: Systems are provided for compact implantable multi-site optical stimulation and/or combined electrical and optical stimulation of spinal cord, brain, dorsal root ganglion, peripheral nerve, or other tissue. High-power LEDs or other light-emitting elements are provided at the site of stimulation, avoiding complex fiber optics or other means for coupling light from a distant laser along a stimulator to target tissue. Colocation of electrical stimulation contacts and light emitters allows the same tissue to be stimulated electrically and optically, at the same time or according to an alternating or other pattern of combined electrical and optical stimulation. These stimulators can be used as part of permanently implanted systems and/or as part of temporary, percutaneous stimulator systems. Optical and/or combined electrical and optical stimulation can be provided for pain relief, to encourage wound healing in nervous or non-nervous tissue, or to provide other clinical benefits.

  • Patent number: 11459261
Abstract: A procedure for producing a liquid fertilizing product from a biosolids cake that has been de-watered to a biosolids content of 18% or more. The procedure includes positioning a process amount of the biosolids cake in a reactor vessel, heating the biosolids cake process amount, and adding a quantity of an alkali and mixing it into the process amount of the biosolids cake to form a reactor mixture. The reactor mixture incubated for a period, and then cooled. The alkali includes pH-raising and hydrolysis-procuring components. The quantity of alkali in relating to the biosolids process amount is sufficient that a residual amount of the alkali remains in the cooled reactor mixture, the pH of the reactor mixture remains at a saturation level during and after the incubation period, and the cooled reaction mixture is pumpable.

  • Publication number: 20210221726
Abstract: The invention provides a process for the drying and re-hydration of high solids Biosolids cake to be converted into a pumpable organic liquid fertilizer. This process may be carried out at ambient pressure without aggressive shearing of the mixture of added process water and the high solids Biosolids cake. The drying step removes the bound water, while the re-hydration step includes mixing which breaks down the particulate matter to produce a fairly homogeneous suspension.
