Publication number: 20230302669Abstract: A portable environmentally friendly clipping tool that includes spring biased upper and lower hinged rigid members, removable clipping teeth, and side walls, forming an enclosed storage area for trapping clipped remains until the user finds a non-polluting location to dispose of the trapped clippings. Clipping removal is facilitated by raising a hinged side wall on the tool enabling the user to pour out the stored clippings from the tool. A pair of C-shaped walls within the tool are positioned in a way that during non-use, the lower portion of one C-shaped wall blocks the open portion of the second C-shaped wall. When the user pushes down on the upper rigid member, a clipping action can take place and the open portion of both C-shaped walls align, allowing clipped remains to migrate into the enclosed storage area of the clipper and be captured for later disposal.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 23, 2022Publication date: September 28, 2023Inventor: Patrick Warner

Patent number: 11280689Abstract: A power measurement assembly mounted within an axle. In a specific example, the axle is a spindle that is interconnects the cranks of a bicycle, exercise, bicycle, or other fitness equipment. The power measurement assembly may include strain gauges connected with an appropriate circuit (e.g., Wheatstone bridge) that provides an output of the force on the axle by a rider pedaling the crank. In the case of an axle, the strain gauges measure the torsion due to the applied torque on the crank. The value is converted to a power value by a processor and that value is then wirelessly transmitted for display. The processor and/or the transmitter may be mounted within the axle. A separate power measurement assembly may be mounted on one of the cranks, which may include its own processor and transmitter or may take advantage of the processor and transmitter within the axle.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2020Date of Patent: March 22, 2022Assignee: Foundation Fitness LLCInventors: Andrew P. Patent number: 9440107Abstract: An exercise device employing side-by-side pivotally supported moving surfaces. In one particular example, an exercise device employs a first belt deployed about a front roller and a rear roller and an adjacent second belt deployed about a front roller and a rear roller. The rear of the belts in the area of the rear rollers are pivotally secured and the front of the belts in the area of the front roller are adapted to reciprocate in an up and down motion during use. In some implementations, the moving surfaces include an interconnection structure such that a generally downward movement of one surface is coordinated with a generally upward movement of the other surface. In other implementations, the moving surfaces are operably associated with one or more resistance elements that effect the amount of force required to pivot or actuate the moving surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2014Date of Patent: September 13, 2016Assignee: NAUTILUS, INC.Inventors: Gary Piaget, Douglas A.
