  • Patent number: 8085410
Abstract: A projection laser scanner and method used to locate otherwise difficult-to-see items inadvertently dropped onto relatively flat surface areas, such as but not limited to floors, countertops, and tabletops, which uses a laser beam with a broad field of view to illuminate items raised above the surface area, giving each a glowing appearance. Should surface areas comprise raised features, the laser beam will illuminate them. However, dropped items thereon will still be very evident and remain easy to locate. Safety applications of the projection laser scanner are many, and include but are not limited to, finding dropped medication, small tools, eyeglass screws, contact lenses, pins, needles, staples, and other objects that one would not want a small child or pet to find and swallow; broken glass or ceramic shards; rings, earrings, and gemstones inadvertently separated from jewelry; as well as countless other difficult-to-see items that blend into background surface areas.

  • Patent number: 7589287
Abstract: A carrier of loose items that a user can employ with a quick glance to determine whether the weight balance displayed on a screen indicates carried items in greater, lesser, or equivalent quantity than previously recorded. A physical inventory of carried items is avoided when the display screen shows a zero weight measurement. However, a non-zero display screen measurement provides time-saving information about the size of items missing or acquired. The carrier's upper portion, which detaches from a memory scale, is readily exchanged with other carriers of differing size and shape. Audible signaling means informs the user at the time the carrier/scale combination is lifted from a support surface if any items are missing or have been inadvertently acquired, to prevent a user from leaving or acquiring valuable tools/items. Other applications include, but are not limited to, transporting supplies relating to fishing, jewelry making, crafts, gardening, and the medical field.

  • Patent number: 6929552
Abstract: An infinity mirror display apparatus, and method of manufacture, which allows private and commercial users to rapidly trade out favored display objects to create different infinity display effects for continued viewer interest and enjoyment. The apparatus comprises a housing having a stationary base member and an easily removable cover which together define an enclosed interior space, at least two reflective surfaces positioned adjacent to the interior space with at least one of the surfaces being partially reflective, and at least one illumination source communicating with the interior space. The cover can be partially or totally removed from the stationary member during display object exchange. The apparatus can be wall-mounted for front and/or side viewing of the infinity mirror effect, or it can be table-mounted with multiple partially reflective surfaces for a full 360° view of the infinity mirror effect created by one or more illuminated display objects.
