Abstract: System and method for providing cloud computing services are described. In one embodiment, the system comprises a cloud computing environment comprising resources for supporting cloud workloads, each cloud workload having associated therewith an internal cloud address; and a routing system disposed between external workloads of an external computing environment and the cloud workloads, the routing system for directing traffic from an external address to the internal cloud addresses of the cloud workloads. A designated one of the cloud workloads obtains one key of a first pair of cryptographic keys, the first pair of cryptographic keys for decrypting encrypted storage hosted within the cloud computing environment.

Abstract: System and method for transparent cloud access are described. In one embodiment, the system comprises an enterprise computing environment maintained by an enterprise and a cloud computing environment maintained by a cloud provider; and a secure bridge mechanism for interconnecting the enterprise computing environment and the cloud computing environment. The secure bridge mechanism comprises a first secure bridge portion associated with the enterprise and a second secure bridge portion associated with the cloud computing environment. The first and second secure bridge portions interoperate to provide transparent and secure access by resources of one of the computing environments to those of the other computing environment.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method, apparatus, and computer program product are disclosed for migrating data from a source physical page to a destination physical page. A migration process is begun to migrate data from the source physical page to the destination physical page which causes a host bridge to enter a first state. The host bridge then suspends processing of direct memory access operations when the host bridge is in the first state. The data is migrated from the source physical page to the destination physical page while the host bridge is in the first state.

Abstract: A system and method for enhancing the number of page views of a web site or other digitally distributed interactive medium. A custom content hosting service allows a publisher to augment the contents of its own site with additional pages. The custom content hosting service provides content based on a topic supplied by the publisher, extracting data from a database of generic content. Generic content may include, for example, news feeds and news archives; news and archive photographs; links to blogs and other sites; etc. The publisher may customize the look and feel of the hosted pages to allow seamless integration into its own site.

Abstract: An enhanced fibre channel adapter with multiple queues for use by different server processors or partitions. For a non-partitioned server, the OS owns the adapter, controls the adapter queues, and updates the queue table(s). An OS operator can obtain information from the fibre channel network about the fibre channel storage data zones available to the physical fibre channel adapter port and can specify that one or more zones can be accessed by a specific processor or group of processors. The processor or group of processors is given an adapter queue to access the zone or zones of storage data. This queue is given a new World Wide Port Name or new N-Port ID Virtualization identifier, to differentiate this queue from another queue that might have access to a different storage data zone or zones. For a partitioned server, one partition owns the adapter, controls the adapter queues, and updates the queue table(s).

Abstract: A mechanism that allows a single physical I/O adapter, such as a PCI, PCI-X, or PCI-E adapter, to perform I/O transactions using the PCI host bus, device, and function numbers to validate that an I/O transaction originated from the proper host is provided. Additionally, a method for facilitating identification of a transaction source partition is provided. An input/output transaction that is directed to a physical adapter is originated from a system image of a plurality of system images. The host data processing system adds an identifier of the system image to the input/output transaction. The input/output transaction is then conveyed to the physical adapter for processing of the input/output transaction.

Abstract: A system for bus communication includes a first port coupled to a bus, comprising a first engine configured to respond to bus signals on the bus, according to a predetermined protocol. A second port couples to the bus, comprising a second engine configured to respond to bus signals according to the predetermined protocol. A control module couples to the second port and is configured to receive a port state signal, and to disable the second port based on the received port state signal.

Abstract: This invention relates to benzimidazoles, pyridylimidazoles and related bicyclic heteroaryl compounds, all of which may be described by of Formula I. The invention is particularly related to such compounds that bind with high selectivity and high affinity to the benzodiazepine site of GABAA receptors. This invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds and to the use of such compounds in treatment of certain central nervous system (CNS) diseases. Novel processes for preparing compounds of Formula I are disclosed. This invention also relates to the use of benzimidazoles, pyridylimidazoles and related bicyclic heteroaryl compounds of Formula I in combination with one or more other CNS agents to potentiate the effects of the other CNS agents. Additionally this invention relates to the use such compounds as probes for the localization of GABAA receptors in tissue sections.

Abstract: A carrier of loose items that a user can employ with a quick glance to determine whether the weight balance displayed on a screen indicates carried items in greater, lesser, or equivalent quantity than previously recorded. A physical inventory of carried items is avoided when the display screen shows a zero weight measurement. However, a non-zero display screen measurement provides time-saving information about the size of items missing or acquired. The carrier's upper portion, which detaches from a memory scale, is readily exchanged with other carriers of differing size and shape. Audible signaling means informs the user at the time the carrier/scale combination is lifted from a support surface if any items are missing or have been inadvertently acquired, to prevent a user from leaving or acquiring valuable tools/items. Other applications include, but are not limited to, transporting supplies relating to fishing, jewelry making, crafts, gardening, and the medical field.

Abstract: An optical fiber drop receiving device may include a housing assembly including a duct entry port for receiving a drop conduit. A drop receiving cylinder may be rotatably mounted in the housing assembly and connected to the duct entry port. The drop receiving cylinder may be configured to receive a fiber drop and a flow of pressurized air from the duct entry port. The drop receiving cylinder may include an escape port for providing an outlet for the flow of pressurized air. The flow of pressurized air through the escape port may cause the drop receiving cylinder to rotate within the housing assembly. The rotation of the drop receiving cylinder may enable winding of the received fiber drop inside the drop receiving cylinder.

Abstract: A quarter turn valve includes a tubular body having a bore flow passage, a valve element having a through flow passage, the valve element being supported in the through flow passage for rotation about an axis transverse to the through flow passage. The through flow passage is aligned with the bore flow passage to permit flow when the valve element is positioned at a first end of the quarter turn and is misaligned with the bore flow passage to prevent flow when the valve element is at a second end of the quarter turn. A motion multiplication device is included for facilitating a slow operation of the valve element. A tool engaging configuration is provided on the handle for facilitating a remote operation of the handle.

Abstract: An optical fiber installation device may include a housing having a drop receiving channel extending therethrough. A drive wheel may be rotatably positioned in the housing and configured to rotatably engage a fiber optic drop provided in the drop receiving channel. The housing may include an air pathway for applying a first flow of pressurized air from an air source to the drive wheel. The first flow of pressurized air may cause the drive wheel to rotate and propel the fiber optic drop through the drop receiving channel.

The physical I/O adapter is virtualized by generating virtual I/O adapters that each represent a portion of the physical I/O adapter. Each one of the virtual I/O adapters is assigned to a different one of client logical partitions. A determination is made regarding whether the physical I/O adapter may have experienced an error. If the physical I/O adapter has experienced an error, all of the client logical partitions are notified about the error and a recovery of the physical I/O adapter is coordinated among all of the client logical partitions by waiting for each client logical partition to acknowledge the error notification before the physical I/O adapter is reset.

Abstract: A method for improving the reliability of host data stored on Fibre Channel attached storage subsystems by performing end-to-end data integrity checks. When a read or write operation is initiated, an initial checksum for data in the read/write operation is generated and associated with the data, wherein the association exists through a plurality of layers of software and attached storage subsystems. The initial checksum is passed with the data in the read/write path. When a layer of software in the read/write path receives the initial checksum and data, the layer performs an integrity check of the data, which includes generating another checksum and comparing it to the initial checksum. If the checksums do not match, the read/write operation fails and the error is logged. If the checksums match, the integrity check is repeated through each layer in the read/write path to enable detecting data corruption at the point of source.
