  • Patent number: 9626588
Abstract: The present invention provides various apparatus and methods for detecting laser beams, locating their origin, recording these events, and alerting law enforcement agencies as the event unfolds. The apparatus includes at least two communicably coupled camera systems coupled to one or more image processors. A method for detecting the laser beam includes the use of optical, temporal and two-dimensional spatial image filtering. A method for computing the location of the laser beam consists of performing geometric computations using triangulation techniques and physical surveying of the cameras. A method for communicating the location of the laser beam in real-time includes the use of wired or wireless communications means, including the coordination with local air traffic control information.

  • Patent number: 8233564
Abstract: A unique digital compression technology for increasing the information carrying capacity of a bandwidth limited communications path highway by using a combined coding and modulation technique. The inventive technology allows multiple independent modulated data streams to simultaneously and instantaneously share the same bandwidth without cross-channel interference. A matched filter is used to substantially reduce the error rate and utilizes a unique training method based on performing a spectral response test. An algorithm calculates the effect of the unique characteristics of the communications highway on the transmitted signal and generates an ideal signal stored in the matched filter for comparison with received signals.

  • Patent number: 7336747
Abstract: A digital compression system including a superresonant filter, which adds samples of a digital data signal at a frequency to previous samples. The added samples are parts of sine or cosine waves, not the sum of the waves. The output signal is actually the summation of the samples. The samples are made during at most a single period. The disclosed superresonant filter has a settling time significantly faster than prior art narrow band filters. Prior art narrow band filters passing approximately 1 Hz require approximately 1 second to settle. The disclosed superresonant filter passing 1 Hz will settle in approximately 1 microsecond.

  • Publication number: 20060161789
Abstract: The present invention provides a system, method and apparatus that includes a user device having a magnetic field generator disposed within a substrate that is normally inactive, an initiator mounted on the substrate, a memory disposed within the substrate and a processor disposed within the substrate that is communicably coupled to the magnetic field generator, the initiator and the memory. The processor is operable to process information received from the initiator, generate a time varying code in response to the received information and activate the magnetic field generator. A power source is also disposed within the substrate. The magnetic field generator can create a spatial magnetic signal using a magnetic stripe and one or more induction coils, or create a time-varying magnetic signal for emulating data obtained from swiping a traditional magnetic stripe card through a magnetic card reader.

  • Publication number: 20060039569
Abstract: A toilet acoustic noise canceling system comprising of at least one reference microphone (155) which is operatively connected to a digital signal processing circuit (240) and at least one speaker (150) which is operatively connected to same digital signal processing circuit. Digital signal processing circuit employs signal from said microphone (235) and computes in real-time an output signal (255) to said speaker (150) for the purpose of causing destructive interference of sound energy emanating from said speaker (285) with unwanted noise source acoustic energy (205) emanating in the general region of said toilet (100).

  • Publication number: 20050001711
Abstract: The present invention provides a system, method and apparatus for securely granting access to an event. For example, in one embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus, such as an electronic card, ticket or information carrier, contains biometric data about a user. When the “ticket” is purchased or authenticated, event access information is stored on the electronic card or ticket by an entity authorized by the event provider. The user is allowed access to the event when the biometric data stored on the electronic card or ticket matches the user's biometric data and the event access information is validated. The user's biometric data is authenticated via a biometric sensor on the electronic card or ticket. The user's biometric data can also be authenticated by the entity granting access to the event.
