  • Patent number: 11078711
Abstract: The present subject matter relates to systems and methods for automatically determining the level of an open chute door in connection with a chute system in a building structure. The position of the open door on the chute is automatically determined, without requiring any configuration at each door on the chute, utilizing a daisy chain wire signal connection and a chute busy wire (enable signal) signal connection. Pulses or other signals are counted at a base station to determine the level of the open door.

  • Patent number: 9901044
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling the fluid level in an ebb and flow watering system control bucket that is in fluid communication with at least one fluid holding apparatus such as a plant container with connecting water lines, causing hydraulic delays in changes in the fluid level in the control bucket when fluid is pumped to or from the control bucket, typically from a fluid reservoir. The method involves pumping fluid to or from the control bucket to achieve a target fluid level in the control bucket; upon the fluid reaching the target fluid level, starting a timer for a short period of time to allow for the hydraulic delays, and continuing to pump fluid while the timer runs; restarting the timer and continuing to pump fluid if the fluid level in the control bucket recedes from the target fluid level; and discontinuing pumping if the timer runs for the full period of time.

  • Publication number: 20170258604
Abstract: Devices and methods are provided for assisting in spinal stabilization. An improved intervertebral plate system is provided that includes an intervertebral spacer, a curvilinear plate, a plurality of bone screws, a curvilinear cover element and a cover screw. The curvilinear plate is configured and arranged to at least inhibit the intervertebral spacer from backing out when positioned between the two vertebrae of a patient. The plate can be secured to one or more intervertebral bodies via a plurality of bone screws. The curvilinear cover element, which can have a smooth and uniform surface, can be attached to the plate. The cover element is configured to inhibit the plurality of bone screws from inadvertently backing out of the plate. The plate and/or the cover element can be substantially recessed within the intervertebral space, thereby reducing the risk of damage to tissue.

  • Patent number: 9176503
Abstract: An ebb and flow watering system having controls for starting an internal timing clock when a fluid in a control bucket reaches a fill level, restarting the internal timing clock if the fluid drops below the fill level, and shutting off the fill pump if the internal timing clock runs for a complete fill period; and starting an internal timing clock when the fluid in the control bucket reaches a drain level, restarting the internal timing clock if the fluid raises above the drain level, and shutting off the drain pump if the internal timing clock runs for a complete drain period.

  • Patent number: 9032308
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a manufacturer portal are disclosed. More specifically, in one embodiment a content distribution system, as a central location for user generated content may also provide manufacturers with a portal to monitor, and participate in, the process of content generation and distribution. This portal may provide the manufacturers with the ability to: view generated content related to that manufacturer and to filter this user generated content utilizing a wide variety of criteria and to generate content which may be responsive to presented generated content. Content generated by a manufacturer through their portal may subsequently be incorporated into one or more retailer's site utilizing the content distribution system.

  • Patent number: 8839240
Abstract: A vendor independent interface is provided between a hypervisor and an adjunct partition associated with a self-virtualizing IO resource to effectively abstract away vendor-specific interface details for the self-virtualizing IO resource and its adjunct partition. By doing so, vendor-specific implementation details may be isolated from the configuration and management functionality in a hypervisor, thus minimizing the changes to vendor specific firmware in order to manage new or revised self-virtualizing IO resources.
