Patent number: 11804705Abstract: An electrical receptacle contains a plug outlet that has a pair of contacts for electrical connection to respective hot and neutral power lines. A controlled switch, such as a TRIAC, is connected in series relationship between the outlet contact and the hot power line. Sensors in the receptacle outputs signals to a processor having an output coupled to the control terminal of the controlled switch. The processor outputs an activation signal or a deactivation signal to the controlled switch in response to received sensor signals that are indicative of conditions relative to the first and second contacts.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2021Date of Patent: October 31, 2023Assignee: Brainwave Research CorporationInventors: John Eriksen, Jean-Guy Gagne, James W. Publication number: 20190096274Abstract: The objects of the present invention are to provide technology for facilitating the teaching of subjects using virtual 3-D scenes or environments (such as used in video games or VR displays) in which objects in the virtual scene can have their properties identified using virtual measurement instruments. Each important object or section of an object in the virtual world would have a file of its properties and each virtual measurement instrument would have instructions for how to display them. The object's properties can, thus, be displayed by identifying a virtual instrument and then identifying the object or section of the object, by for example, pointing with a mouse curser and clicking a mouse button.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2018Publication date: March 28, 2019Applicant: TheBeamer LLCInventors: Peter Solomon, Patrick Belanger, Kenneth Thompson

Patent number: 9437966Abstract: A plug housing includes an ejector mechanism and a controller electrically coupled to the ejector mechanism for detaching electrical conductive blades of the plug from a mated connection with a female connector. In response to a switch signal from the controller, a solenoid is activated to release a latch in the mechanism, thereby permitting the force of a compressed spring to impel a structure outwardly from the plug. The controller may be located remotely from the plug and superimpose control signals to the plug over the power lines within the cord.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2014Date of Patent: September 6, 2016Assignee: BRAINWAVE RESEARCH CORPORATIONInventors: Jean-Guy Gagne, James W. Rogers, Patrick Belanger

Patent number: 8571738Abstract: A battery monitoring system comprises a battery control unit (BCU) and a plurality of module control units (MCUs) connectable to battery modules. The BCU comprises a low voltage power supply, a BCU controller, and a reference address signal source connected to an address signaling path. The MCUs receive low voltage power from the BCU. Each MCU comprises an address signal input and output with a signal coupler therebetween for connecting the module control unit along the address signaling path, and an MCU controller. The BCU controller determines a number of MCUs on the address signaling path, and each MCU controller determines the associated MCU's position along the address signaling path, based at least in part on a detected signal on the address signaling path and predetermined properties of the reference address signal and address signal coupler. A ground fault detection unit may provide a fault signal to the BCU controller.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2012Date of Patent: October 29, 2013Assignee: JTT Electronics LtdInventors: Russell Potter, Wei Dong, Minjie Shi, Patrick Belanger
