  • Patent number: 11318712
Abstract: A spunbond nonwoven laminate has a first spunbond nonwoven layer having crimped filaments formed by a first component on an outer surface of the filaments of the first layer consisting or substantially consisting of a polyolefin and a second component consisting or substantially consisting of a plastic having a higher melting point than the polyolefin of the first component of the filaments of the first layer. A second outermost spunbond nonwoven layer on the first layer having filaments as a cover layer and formed by a first component on an outer surface of the filaments of the second layer consisting or substantially consisting of a polyolefin, and a second component consisting or substantially consisting of a plastic having a higher melting point than the polyolefin of the first component of the filaments of the second layer.

  • Publication number: 20210032789
Abstract: A nonwoven web is made by displacing an air-permeable mesh-belt conveyor in a horizontal travel direction and spinning and then depositing crimped continuous filaments as a web at a deposit region on the air-permeable mesh-belt conveyor. A first preconsolidation stage is provided downstream of the deposit region and a second preconsolidation separated by a suction gap from the first stage. Air is drawn air through the web and the conveyor at the deposit region at a first predetermined speed, the first and second consolidation stages at a second and third predetermined speeds, and at the suction gap either not at all or at a fourth predetermined equal to at most substantially less than the second predetermined speed.

  • Publication number: 20210032788
Abstract: An apparatus for making a nonwoven fabric from thermoplastic plastic filaments has an air permeable deposit conveyor having a horizontal face displaceable in a horizontal travel direction and a spinneret above the conveyor for spinning the filaments and depositing the spun filaments on the deposit conveyor in a deposit area of the conveyor as a nonwoven web for conveyance in the travel direction. An extractor beneath the conveyor draws air or process air through the deposit conveyor in the deposit area in a main extraction area below the deposit conveyor and is delimited by, relative to the travel direction, upstream and downstream suction partitions. One of the partitions has an upper edge set at a predetermined vertical spacing below the conveyor equal to between 10 mm and 250 mm.

  • Publication number: 20200307146
Abstract: A nonwoven laminate having at least two nonwoven layers is made by first spinning, cooling, and stretching, first crimped multicomponent filaments to form a first nonwoven web that is deposited on a deposition device. Then second continuous continuous filaments including an elastomer based on polypropylene are spun, cooled, and stretched to form a second nonwoven web that is deposited on the first nonwoven web and thereby forming the nonwoven laminate that it then consolidated.

  • Publication number: 20190233994
Abstract: A spunbond nonwoven laminate has a stack of at least two and at most four spunbond nonwoven layers each formed by or consisting of crimped continuous filaments. A degree of crimping of the filaments in each of the spunbond nonwoven layers is different from a degree of crimping in each of the other spunbond nonwoven layers and each of the crimped filaments of the spunbond nonwoven layers has a crimp with at least two loops per centimeter of length. The crimped filaments of the spunbond nonwoven layers are multicomponent filaments each having at least one first plastic component and at least one second plastic component with each of the plastic components being present in the respective filament in a proportion of at least 10 wt %.
