  • Publication number: 20140110363
Abstract: A rod holder mounting system including first and second mounting bracket sub-assemblies adapted to couple to first and second opposing ends of a rod holder sub-assembly. The first and second mounting bracket sub-assemblies respectively couple to first and second opposing ones of a vehicle's existing tie down bracket coupling locations, existing tie down brackets, or a tool box, and the rod holder sub-assembly includes a cross bar with rod holder tubes and first and second locking systems adapted to removably couple the cross bar to the first and second mounting bracket sub-assemblies, respectively. The rod holder mounting system allows for the transportation of fishing rods and reels in a vehicle and locks both the rod holder sub-assembly to the vehicle and the rods and reels to the mounting system.

  • Patent number: 8688550
Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically managing investment portfolios to substantially track a selected index and to automatically harvest tax losses is disclosed. Preferably, the system comprises an accounting system for maintaining tax lot information for individual accounts, an optimization system for rebalancing each account to substantially model the index and for harvesting tax losses, and a trading system for executing trades. Each investor owns the securities in his account, and therefore, harvested losses can be used to offset capital gains. The period between successive optimization procedures is selected to avoid application of the internal revenue service wash sale rules.

  • Publication number: 20130292943
Abstract: A method of operating a wind turbine system includes: determining, by an industrial process controller, if an actual wind speed value, received from an anemometer, of a wind at a location of the wind turbine system is less than a predetermined minimum wind speed value. If so, then calculating a command speed value that will cause a variable-speed drive to drive the motor/generator and a sail assembly at a speed that the sail assembly would turn if the actual wind speed value was the minimum wind speed value, such that the sail assembly turns and provides a visual effect. If not, then calculating a command speed value based on the actual wind speed value such that the variable-speed drive and the motor/generator will operate in a braking mode to recover a braking energy of a load of the wind on the sail assembly.

  • Publication number: 20130223215
Abstract: A transmission regulation method which may be performed by a station having at least one data frame for transmitting over a telecommunications network is disclosed. In one aspect, the method comprises, during at least one selection round from a set of selection rounds, obtaining a value representative either of an authorization to transmit or a prohibition to transmit the frame. Furthermore, when the value is representative of an authorization to transmit, transmitting an information signal over a first communications channel of the network, to inform the other stations that the station has obtained a value representative of an authorization to transmit; or when the value is representative of a prohibition to transmit, listening for an information signal, if any, transmitted over the first communications channel of the network. The method listens to or transmits over a second communications channel of the network that is different from the first communications channel.

  • Publication number: 20130094412
Abstract: The invention relates to a transmission control method implemented by a station having at least one data frame to be transmitted via a wireless telecommunication network. In one aspect, the method comprises, at each selection round from a maximum number of selection rounds: a step of obtaining a value representative of either an authorization to transmit said frame, or of a prohibition to transmit said frame; and, when the value is representative of an authorization for transmission, transmitting an information signal in the network so as to indicate, to the other stations, that the station has obtained a value representative of an authorization for transmission. The transmission of the information signal is at least partially carried out during the transmission of a data frame in the network.
