Abstract: A pipe setting tool for use with an excavator includes a frame having sidewalls, a lower wall positioned at a lower edge of the side walls and a rear wall positioned at a side edge of the sidewalls. The frame is detachably coupled to the excavator. A cushioning member is disposed on an outer surface of the lower wall and on an inner surface of the rear wall. The cushioning member is in contact with a surface of the pipe as the pipe is displaced to join the pipe with another pipe.
