    Abstract: Abstract: Disclosed are methods and compositions for treating a subject where the subject is undergoing or is about to undergo treatment with an anthracycline chemotherapeutic. In the disclosed methods, a subject may be administered an anthracycline chemotherapeutic and the subject further may be administered a detoxifying therapeutic agent that detoxifies the anthracycline chemotherapeutic, such as one or more enzymes that catalyze metabolism of the anthracycline chemotherapeutic or one or more probiotic organisms that express the one or more enzymes that catalyze metabolism of the anthracycline chemotherapeutic.
