  • Publication number: 20200162076
Abstract: Techniques for mixing, or modulating, a high-frequency, digital communication signal with a low-frequency, analog current loop signal are provided. In certain examples, the techniques allow mixing the signals in a non-AC coupled manner. In certain examples, such mixing techniques can allow for simplified connections between a modem chip and an analog current loop interface chip of an analog I/O module.

  • Publication number: 20200136834
Abstract: A request to add tags (e.g., labels, key-value pairs, or metadata) to resources can be digitally signed by the entity making the request, such that the source can be verified and an authorization determination made for each tag. For a request involving multiple services (or entities) that can each add tags, any tag added by a service can be included in the request and digitally signed by that service. Each service processing the request can also digitally sign the request before forwarding, so that each service signs a version of the request, which includes elements signed by other services earlier in the request chain. When the request is received to a tagging service, the service ensures that every tag was digitally signed by the appropriate authorized entity or service, and validates the signatures to ensure that no data was modified or omitted, before adding the tags to the designated resource(s).

  • Patent number: 10511584
Abstract: A secure shell (SSH) bastion service can proxy customer SSH traffic through SSH host resources before routing the traffic to the target resource instances in a customer allocation of a multi-tenant environment. The bastion service supports connections directly from a customer allocation management console, which enables the specification of a target instance and selection of an option to establish a secure connection to that instance. The bastion service handles authentication and authorization, ensuring that all security requirements are satisfied. An SSH server of the bastion service can route the traffic to the target instance using the appropriate port for SSH traffic. A second SSH connection is established from the bastion service to the SSH server executing on the target instance, providing end-to-end security of traffic from the client device to the target instance of the customer allocation.

  • Patent number: 10223706
Abstract: A system for monitoring at least one of tagged asset on at least one physical asset using a processor and data storage connected to a network, with at least one connected client device. The system displays at least one tagged asset from at least one independent survey set up on a layered coordinate system view with icons. The at least one independent survey set up can have at least one data capture device, such as a laser scanner, a camera, or both, a processor with data storage, and a receiver/transmitter enabling a user to link icons to a 360 degree panoramic view, which enables a user to view a visual representation of at least one tagged asset and connect to a library of tagged assets.

  • Patent number: 10044695
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for receiving a request to associate one or more application instance definitions with an application identity of an application configured with a set of permissions to access computer resources in an environment of a computing resource service provider. The system and method cause a computer system to store the one or more application instance definitions in association with the application identity of the application. The system and method also cause the computer system to evaluate a request originating from an application corresponding to the application identity and the application instance definition to determine if fulfillment of the request complies with the permissions.

  • Patent number: 9527204
Abstract: A fixture for selectably supporting a number of dissimilar workpieces. The fixture includes a frame with one or more rotatable workpiece tooling assemblies. Each workpiece tooling assembly has multiple faces to which is mounted workpiece support tooling. The workpiece support tooling may be designed to support dissimilar workpieces, such that a single fixture may support any of a given number of workpieces by simply rotating the workpiece tooling assembly or assemblies until the corresponding support tooling is properly positioned. A locking assembly may be provided to releasably secure each workpiece tooling assembly in the various support orientations that coincide with each of its faces.

  • Publication number: 20160357203
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention may provide an integrated circuit with reduced power loss. The integrated circuit may comprise a processing system and a feedback circuit. The processing system may generate a load signal from a variable power supply, which is external to the integrated circuit. The feedback circuit may compare the load signal and a voltage input from the variable power supply, and based on the comparison, generate a feedback signal for adjusting the variable power supply, thereby reducing power loss.

  • Patent number: 9262740
Abstract: A method for monitoring a plurality of tagged assets on at least one offshore asset, by creating a customer profile and a library of survey set ups and storing information from independent survey set ups mounted on or proximate to the offshore asset on the administrative data storage. The method includes creating a library of tagged assets for the offshore asset using at least one independent survey set up, wherein each tagged asset has an icon with a hyperlink to a library of images. The method includes identifying placement locations on offshore assets and forming an executive dashboard for display on at least one client device, wherein a virtually positioned icon positioned on an image of the tagged assets presents a hyperlink to the library of survey set ups for that tagged asset, thereby enabling toggling from the image to the library of survey set ups.

  • Patent number: 9121753
Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatic resonance detection is disclosed for a motor-driven mechanical system such as a voice coil motor (VCM) in which a resonance detector and driver are provided. The automatic resonance detector is implemented on the same integrated circuit as the driver, and dynamically determines the natural resonant frequency of the VCM driven by the driver. The resonant frequency is determined by measuring the back electromotive force (BEMF) of the VCM, detecting the slope of the BEMF signal, and determining the resonant frequency from the slope of the BEMF signal.

  • Publication number: 20140370499
Abstract: The invention features devices for fragmenting polymers or particles in a sample using a centrifuge. In its simplest embodiment, the device includes a body and a valve. The valve, to one side of which a sample is applied, is designed to remain closed until a specified centrifugal force is reached or exceeded. Once open, the valve allows the passage of the sample through a channel in the body. The channel includes one to four fragmenting regions, and the polymers or particles are fragmented as they traverse the fragmenting regions under an applied centrifugal force. The invention further features methods of fragmenting polymers using a device of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20120304121
Abstract: A method of displaying time-dependent information is used to provide a time navigation window for aiding a user in selecting data to be displayed in a chart. A first sequence of first selectable time intervals and a second sequence of second selectable time intervals are displayed in a hierarchical arrangement in a viewport in the time navigation window. The first and second selectable time intervals have first and second time scales, respectively, and each have a respective selectable area for display. The time-dependent data is displayed in the time intervals or selectable areas thereof of at least one the first and second sequences. A user can select one or more of the time intervals for changing range of time for display of the data within the viewport or for changing a range of time for display of the data in an area outside the viewport.

  • Publication number: 20020142336
Abstract: Novel methods for determining the existence or nonexistence of a test nucleotide on a strand of DNA are provided. The methods involve the use of a proofreading polymerase that is capable of incorporating a labeled nucleotide in a primer into and extension product if there is a match between the test nucleotide on the strand of DNA and the complementary nucleotide on the primer, but which excises the labeled nucleotide and does not incorporate it into an extension product if there is a mismatch. The presence or absence of the test nucleotide then may be established by determining whether the label is preserved or lost following the reaction. Methods involving the use of a quencher-chromophore pair are also provided.
