  • Patent number: 8563911
Abstract: A device for opening and locking a tail unit is provided. The tail unit includes a body and at least one fin, pivotable relative to the body along a first axis, that has a projection that forms an element. The device comprises a control ring, slidable relative to the body along a second axis, that includes a component, forming an element, that bears against the projection to deploy the fin, the second axis being non-parallel and non-secant to the first axis. A means for shaping one of the elements during translation along the second axis of the control ring towards the projection of the fin is provided on the other element. The body includes a bearing surface to support the fin during shaping, in which the support of the fin on the bearing surface corresponds to the deployed position of the fin.

  • Publication number: 20130264425
Abstract: A separable ejectable protective nosecone for a guided munition comprises a munition body of cylindrical shape of longitudinal axis ZZ? having a munition body front end comprising a central part intended to be directed toward a target of the munition. The nosecone comprises, at the munition body front end and covering said front end, n contiguous nosecone portions of the same shape distributed about said longitudinal axis ZZ?, one respective pyrotechnic device per nosecone portion. Each of the pyrotechnic devices comprises a pyrotechnic device body secured to the munition body, a pusher piston in contact with the respective nosecone portion. Simultaneous activation of the n pyrotechnic devices separates the edges of the nosecone portions from their respective plane of assembly in order to free the front end of the munition body. Application: Steered or guided munitions such as those of the rocket or projectile type or missiles.

  • Publication number: 20130145952
Abstract: Ammunition comprises, along a longitudinal axis, a fuse in the form of a tip, an ammunition body and a skirt, the ammunition body of cylindrical form with axis of revolution merged with the longitudinal axis, having, between a front end and a rear end, a circular cylindrical wall delimiting a loading compartment containing a pyrotechnic charge, the ammunition body being sealed at its front end by the fuse and at its rear end by the skirt attached to the ammunition body. The ammunition body includes, in the loading compartment, between its two ends, a central core having n fins each comprising at least one edge, in the axis of revolution, attached to the skirt, n being greater than or equal to 1, to separate the pyrotechnic charge into at least two portions on either side of a given fin Ei. Applications are to cannon or mortar type ammunition.

  • Publication number: 20060266208
Abstract: The invention relates to techniques used to transport artillery-type autonomous weapons, such as cannons or mortars. The invention can be used to transport a heavy weapon on the rear deck of a light all-terrain vehicle. The interface (3, 4) between the vehicle (2) and the weapon (1) comprises a retractable structure (3), e.g. a fork crane (30), a cable (32) and an electrical winch (31). When retracted, the retractable structure is designed to form a mechanical connection between the vehicle and the weapon, and, when released, said structure is configured to enable the weapon to move in relation to the vehicle, such that the stresses produced with the launch of a missile are not transmitted to the vehicle. Moreover, when the retractable structure is in the released position, the weapon can be moved away from the vehicle while remaining connected thereto and, in the retracted position, the structure can be used to position the weapon precisely on the vehicle.
