  • Patent number: 11448515
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for emissions reduction in a vehicle. In one example, a method includes pre-emptively adjusting engine operating parameters in response to an anticipated emissions causal event. The emissions causal event lasting for less than a threshold period of time or less than a threshold distance.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 29, 2020
Date of Patent: September 20, 2022
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
    Inventors: Jon O'Neill, Patrick Corbett

  • Patent number: 10877952
Abstract: An improved system for updating a flight management system of an aircraft is described. A flight management system is configured to execute an operation. The flight management system can comprise a storage device storing thereon a database. The database is configured to store data usable by the flight management system to execute the operation and receive updates to the database that pertain to the operation executed by the flight management system. The updated database enables updating of the operation without updating the operational software of the flight management system.

  • Publication number: 20170046381
Abstract: The invention is a method of optimizing the interaction between (i) a client, being an application such as database software, implemented on a computing device, and (ii) database server software implemented on a computing device. Query data is routed from the client to the database server software through an optimisation system implemented on a computing device and then response data provided by the database server software is routed to the optimisation system. The optimisation system analyses that (or later) query data and, based on that analysis, applies rules to response data provided by the database server software, in order to generate optimised response data to thereby speed up the interaction between the client and the database server software.

  • Patent number: 4082860
Abstract: The invention provides a powder of fine semiconducting vitreous enamelling particles, such as alkali-boro silicate glass frit, especially applicable to an electrostatic powder coating process, for providing improved electrostatic adhesion to a base metallic surface. The preferred powder treatment is to expose the dried powder to tri-chloro-silane vapor which reacts with the hydroxyl surface groups on the particles to form a surface layer which is then exposed to water vapor producing a hydrophobic cross-linked silicone structure. In the final firing stage of the enamelling process excess organic groups are driven off, and the enamel is not contaminated.

  • Patent number: 4067241
Abstract: A fluid pressure transducer comprises a chamber; one or more matched, plate-like crystals within the chamber; electrical means for exciting each of the crystals and means for transmitting forces originating from fluid pressures on two diaphragms located on the chamber to the crystal or crystals so as to produce a change in the resonant frequency of the crystal or crystals. This change is a measure of the difference in fluid pressures applied to the two diaphragms. SPThis application is a continuation-in-part of my copending application Ser. No. 499,489 filed Oct. 22, 1974, now U.S. Pat. No. 4,020,448 issued Apr. 26, 1977. The specification and drawings of that prior application are hereby incorporated into this application by reference.

  • Patent number: 4020448
Abstract: A force transducer comprises a chamber; two matched plate-like crystals mounted facing each other within the chamber upright with respect to a base member provided within the chamber; electrical means for exciting each of the crystals; and means for transmitting a force to one of the crystals, including a spigot assembly which is mounted within the chamber by means of two spaced apart resilient supports and arranged to bear on one edge of said one crystal so as to produce in response to said force a change of the resonant frequency of that crystal with respect to the other crystal.
