  • Patent number: 10226311
Abstract: A self-ligating attachment intended to form part of an orthodontic appliance, the external surface of said attachment being provided with a groove for receiving an orthodontic arch. A elastic clip that can be reversibly moved between an open position forming an open passage allowing the insertion of the arch into the groove and a closed position sealing the groove. A base including an external surface that supports the attachment and an occlusal surface which is intended to rest on one of the patient's teeth, so as to hug the surface of the tooth. In addition, the base comprises a support for the attachment and said base assists in the guiding of the clip, cooperating with the attachment, as the clip moves between the open and closed positions.

  • Publication number: 20140011154
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing an attachment intended to form part of an orthodontic appliance and comprising a recess for receiving an orthodontic arch. During a first step, an attachment blank is produced, comprising an attachment portion of standardized configuration and dimensions and a base portion. During a second step, the base portion is shaped in order to provide the attachment with a customized configuration developed in accordance with the configuration of the tooth on which the attachment is to be placed and the desired position of the recess after the attachment has been secured to the tooth. Once it has been manufactured, the attachment has an attachment portion and a base. The invention also relates to the resulting attachment blank and attachment and to an orthodontic appliance including said attachment.

  • Publication number: 20130125398
Abstract: A method of producing a customized orthodontic appliance for treating a patient where the appliance includes at least one orthodontic arch and a plurality of elements each including a bracket provided with at least one slot in which said orthodontic arch can be inserted. Each bracket being configured to be placed on a base intended to be placed on a posterior face of a tooth. The method includes individual numerical design of said bases after forming a model representing the dental arch and the faces of the teeth to which said bases are to be fixed in the corrected position. At least some of said bases are numerically designed and manufactured using rapid prototyping. A mass-produced bracket is fixed to each of said bases. An orthodontic arch is numerically designed and manufactured so that it follows the curvature of the dental arch in the corrected position.

  • Publication number: 20110097682
Abstract: Method for producing a customized orthodontic device having an arch wire and a plurality of elements which each include a bracket provided with a groove for inserting the arch wire, each bracket being placed on an intermediate component which is itself placed on a base placed on a face of a tooth. The method making provision for the brackets, intermediate components and bases to be digitally designed in a customized manner after having formed a representation in the corrected position of the arch and faces of the teeth, wherein: a model arch wire is positioned relative to the faces of the teeth on the representation, the geometry of the modal arch wire being homothetic with that of the treatment arch wire; the elements are digitally designed so as to give them a shape which corresponds to the space which would separate the tooth and the curved member when the tooth had assumed its corrected position and the arch wire had returned to its initial shape.
