  • Publication number: 20240127853
Abstract: A primary subsystem captures original information and supplemental information to form a revision. A primary subsystem enables revisions to be made at the location of the incident prior to leaving the location. Systems for collecting and managing information about incidents include primary and secondary subsystems. A category is a descriptor or label that identifies a common aspect among members assigned to the category. Categories may determine how information is stored, communicated, and/or accessed on primary and/or secondary subsystems.

  • Patent number: 10428964
Abstract: A ball check valve controls the flow of fluid with a sphere. A body has a fluid path and a recess for receiving the sphere in alignment with the fluid path. The sphere has a retainer which secures a ball check within it. When the valve is in a “Run” position and the rate of fluid flow increases excessively, the ball check seats in a narrow opening of the sphere, thus restricting the flow of fluid.

  • Patent number: 8248965
Abstract: A service convergence fabric (103) is operably disposed between a plurality of independent access networks, control networks, and service networks (104) and a converged application layer (100). This service convergence fabric is then used (202) to receive a service request, process the service request, provide a corresponding response, and publish that response to facilitate the service request. Processing the service request can comprise processing the service request with respect to resources to support the service request, user session status as corresponds to the service request, and user preferences as correspond to the service request. Providing a response can comprise providing a response that comprises at least one of a processed service request and a converged response to the service request.

  • Patent number: 7917391
Abstract: A method for creating solicitations based on geolocalization and observation. At remote terminal, a need is identified and a solicitation based on that need is created at a server based on commands sent over a network, such as a wireless network. In an example embodiment, a roofing company worker passing through a residential area spots a roof in need of work and based on the location of the spotter, transmits a command to a server to generate a mailing (e.g., email or regular mail) to the address responsively to the GPS data and other data.

  • Patent number: 7154942
Abstract: A method and apparatus for automated correlation of digital modulation impairment is described. The technique obtains soft decision data (116, 2502) and extracts signal space location information of sufficient resolution to distinguish different types of impairment to a digitally modulated signal. The technique applies an error vector magnitude mask (117, 502) and determines the signal-to-noise ratio of the digitally modulated signal. The technique applies impairment masks (118, 2504) and provides a characterization (119) of impairment affecting the digitally modulated signal (112). The technique determines a subset of the soft decision data (116, 2502) that falls within the impairment masks (118, 2505) and calculates correlation weights (2506). The technique may be used to identify, isolate, and classify different types of impairment. Given sufficient data collection, sources of impairments may be determined precisely.

  • Patent number: 6647252
Abstract: The present invention is a method and system for extracting information from a received signal with minimal loss due to noise. The system comprises of a transformer, for correlating the received signal to a wavelet function and producing wavelet decomposition coefficients, and a threshold circuit, which is responsive to the received signal, for applying predetermined threshold values based on the type of signal. Also included in the system is a filter, coupled to the transformer and threshold circuit, for altering the wavelet decomposition coefficients produced by the transformer using threshold values applied by the threshold circuit to produce altered wavelet coefficients from which the received signal is reconstructed with reduced noise.

  • Patent number: 6512472
Abstract: A direct down conversion receiver includes a signal filter having a selectable frequency response for receiving an input signal. The filtered signal is amplified by a variable gain amplifier, and the amplified signal is received as input by an analog-to-digital converter. The analog-to-digital converter generates a series of digital samples representative of the filtered signal. A controller measures a corresponding peaking ratio of the filtered signal from the series of digital samples for each of a plurality of frequency bands and selects the frequency response of the signal filter as a function of the measured peaking ratios. The signal filter may include an adjustable highpass filter and an adjustable lowpass filter.
