  • Publication number: 20110041572
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing locks for doors of a plurality of models of motor vehicles, each lock comprising a latch (1) which is rotatable about an axis (A) and which is associated with a pawl (2) rotatable about an axis (B), and also a mechanical and/or electrical transmission arrangement for carrying out an identical list of commands, the positioning of the fastening points (3, 4, 5) of these locks being identical, and the relative positioning of their “S point” (S1, S2) being different. According to the invention, said mechanical and/or electrical transmission arrangement of each of the locks is identical and only the assembly consisting of the latch and the associated pawl is different for each model of vehicles, in order to achieve said positioning of the “S point”.

  • Patent number: 7543861
Abstract: The lock includes an opening lever and a locking lever capable of displacing a connecting rod between a first position, in which the opening lever can cooperate with the connecting rod to cause the opening of the lock, and a second position which prevents the opening of the lock, blocking means for preventing a displacement of the rod between the first and second positions when the opening lever is put into an opening position before the locking lever is actuated, and an elastic device capable of memorizing both an unlocking action and a locking action when the locking lever is actuated while the connecting rod is being blocked by storing an unlocking energy or a locking energy in response to the actuation of the locking lever to automatically cause an unlocking or a locking of the lock when the opening lever returns into a position of rest.

  • Patent number: 6575003
Abstract: An automatic lock for a vehicle door includes a latch bolt and a retractable pawl that maintains the latch bolt in the closed position. The lock also includes a latch bolt release member having a controller which may be actuated in response to operation of a door handle and when the lock is unlocked can retract the pawl. An electronic recognition member produces an unlocking signal in response to a predetermined identification signal. A first electric actuator is responsive to the unlocking signal to unlock the lock. A second electric actuator is responsive to the unlocking signal for releasing the latch bolt.

  • Patent number: 6367296
Abstract: Motor vehicle door lock comprising: a latch cooperating with a striker; a pawl immobilizing the latch in the closed position; a latch-release mechanism comprising a control member that can move in response to actuation of a door handle; an electromechanical locking/unlocking device causing the lock to pass into an unlocked condition in response to an unlocking signal produced by an electronic recognition device; an energy accumulation device is provided, this device including a spring interposed between the control member and the pawl in such a way that when the lock is in the locked condition, the spring stores energy by being stressed by the control member during its actuation movement in response to the actuation of the door handle and so that, when the lock moves into the unlocked condition, the energy stored up in the spring is released and the energy accumulation device causes the pawl to move into its “escaped” position, releasing the latch.

  • Patent number: 6328354
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a door lock for an automobile vehicle, including a lock casing with at least two compartments, the first being a retention compartment containing retention parts, such as a latch bolt intended to engage and hold a striker, and a pawl intended to block the latch bolt in its striker holding position, and the second being a kinematic compartment containing parts used to control the inside and outside opening and locking/unlocking of the lock, the compartments providing, for the retention and control parts, mounting planes parallel to the transverse vertical plane of the vehicle, said retention compartment including a striker slot opening in the transverse direction and receiving a striker during door closing, wherein said casing has a plane of symmetry parallel to the longitudinal vertical plane or to the longitudinal horizontal plane of the vehicle, to enable use of the same casing for either a left door or a right door.

  • Patent number: 6003910
Abstract: Lock comprising a rotary latch and a pawl for retaining the latch; external opening control rod and internal opening control rod for acting on the pawl by way of an intermediate lever and an electric drive. The intermediate lever has one end connected to the pawl. The lever being articulated in such a way as to be able to pivot at least about two different axes forming an angle between them. A pivoting of the lever about a first direction permits the locking function to be performed, a pivoting of the lever about the second direction permits the child safety function to be performed, and a combined pivoting of the lever about the first and second directions permits the double-locking function to be performed, so that the electric drive has only to control two movements in order to execute the three functions: locking, child safety and double-locking.
