Abstract: A hand-held device is used in finishing an elongated workpiece, such as molding, which has a profiled front surface, the profiled front surface including a specific contour in transverse cross-section. The device has a finishing portion and a gripping portion. The finishing portion is formed from an open-cell foam material and has a working surface that is transversely profiled to be complementary to at least the profiled front surface of the workpiece. The finishing portion is adapted to apply a liquid material, such as a paint, stain or protective coating, to the workpiece.
