Abstract: This invention relates to a system for forming a composite from a cyanoacrylate composition and a filler within depressions, holes, cracks or spaces in a substrate. The system also allows for the placement of a cantilevered member in the filled depression, hole, crack or space in the substrate to support a load when the cyanoacrylate has cured.

Abstract: A one-part adhesive composition for bonding glass including: (a) a cyanoacrylate monomer; (b) 15 to 60% w/w of at least one plasticizer by weight of the composition; (c) 0.01% to 5.0% w/w of at least one silane by weight of the composition.

Abstract: A curable cyanoacrylate adhesive composition intended for medical and/or veterinary uses is sterilized in liquid form by gamma irradiation. The composition comprisesa) a cyanoacrylate monomerb) a combination of an anionic stabilizer and a free-radical stabilizer in amounts effective to stabilize the composition during irradiation and to stabilize the sterilized composition during storage prior to cure, wherein the free radical stabilizer is a selected phenolic antioxidant (but not including hydroquinone).The preferred free radical stabilizer is butylated hydroxyanisole. After irradiation the cyanoacrylate monomer is substantially ungelled.

Abstract: A method of bonding a plastic substrate with an alpha-cyanoacrylate adhesive in which a primer comprising an ethylenediamine is used. The method is particularly suitable for use in bonding polyolefins in the consumer market.

Abstract: In a process for priming a non-polar substrate such as a polyolefin for bonding with a cyanoacrylate adhesive, the use of an adhesion-promoting primer comprising at least one diazabicyclo or triazabicyclo compound selected from1,5-diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non-5-ene having the formula: ##STR1## 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene having the formula: ##STR2## and 1,5,7-triazabicyclo[4.4.0]dec-5-ene having the formula: ##STR3## The primer also contains a solvent.
