  • Publication number: 20140359759
Abstract: An apparatus identifies suspicious data records having two or more numerical fields. A first hardware selector identifies a set of records for analysis. A second hardware selector identifies fields within identified records that are appropriate for a Benford analysis. A Benford analysis engine calculates, for each identified field, a Benford distribution for each identified field. A hardware aggregator sums a total score for each record from the set of records, where each total score comprises a summation of deviant values for each appropriate field value within each record, and where a deviant value represents a difference between a calculated Benford distribution for each field and a theoretical Benford distribution for each field. A third hardware selector selects a record from the set of records according to a highest total score.

  • Publication number: 20070265224
Abstract: The present invention relates to nucleoside diphosphate mimics and nucleoside triphosphate mimics, which contain diphosphate or triphosphate moiety mimics and optionally sugar-modifications and/or base-modifications. The nucleotide mimics of the present invention, in a form of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, a pharmaceutically acceptable prodrug, or a pharmaceutical formulation, are useful as antiviral, antimicrobial, and anticancer agents. The present invention provides a method for the treatment of viral infections, microbial infections, and proliferative disorders. The present invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds of the present invention optionally in combination with other pharmaceutically active agents.

  • Patent number: 5726156
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel peptides that are potent cytokine regulatory agents. In addition, the present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a cytokine regulatory agent. Administration of such a cytokine regulatory agent to a subject can enhance or restrain cytokine activity. Thus, the present invention provides a method of regulating cytokine activity in a subject having a condition characterized by aberrant or altered cytokine activity. The invention also provides methods of treating such conditions, including, for example, disuse deconditioning, diseases mediated by nitric oxide and cytokines, adverse drug reactions, obesity, septic shock, and adverse side effects due to cancer chemotherapy or occurring as in response to organ transplantation.
