  • Patent number: 11982715
Abstract: A battery characterization system includes a drive-sense circuit (DSC), memory that stores operational instructions, and processing module(s) operably coupled to the DSC and the memory. Based on a reference signal, the DSC generates a charge signal, which includes an AC (alternating current) component, and provides the charge signal to a terminal of a battery via a single line and simultaneously to senses the charge signal via the single line to detect an electrical characteristic of the battery based on a response of the battery. The DSC generates a digital signal representative of the electrical characteristic of the battery. The processing module(s), based on the operational instructions, generate the reference signal to include a frequency sweep of the AC component of the charge signal (e.g.

  • Patent number: 11974604
Abstract: A heater assembly for an aerosol-generating system is provided, including: a fluid-permeable heating element to vaporise a liquid aerosol-forming substrate; and a transport material to transport the substrate to the heating element and having a thickness defined between a first surface and an opposing second surface thereof, the first surface being in fluid communication with the element and the second surface being arranged to receive the substrate and provided with at least one hole extending into the material to a depth corresponding to at least a part of the thickness to define a formed fluid channel for the substrate, the material including a capillary material having elongate fibres, an average direction of the fibres is substantially parallel to the first and second surfaces, and the hole extends substantially perpendicular to the average direction. A method of manufacturing a heater assembly, a cartridge, and an aerosol-generating system are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20240112890
Abstract: A faceplate of a showerhead has a bottom side that faces a plasma generation region and a top side that faces a plenum into which a process gas is supplied during operation of a substrate processing system. The faceplate includes apertures formed through the bottom side and openings formed through the top side. Each of the apertures is formed to extend through a portion of an overall thickness of the faceplate to intersect with at least one of the openings to form a corresponding flow path for process gas through the faceplate. Each of the apertures has a cross-section that has a hollow cathode discharge suppression dimension in at least one direction. Each of the openings has a cross-section that has a smallest cross-sectional dimension that is greater than the hollow cathode discharge suppression dimension.

  • Patent number: 5002100
Abstract: An apparatus including a reservoir mounted for gravity feed overlying an associated battery, wherein the battery includes a plurality of cell openings, with a valve member mounted within each cell opening, wherein each valve member is in fluid communication with a reservoir. Each valve member includes a reciprocatable indicator mounted within the valve member extending into the cell, wherein the indicator member includes a lower float portion to direct an indicator member reciprocatably within a transparent portion of the valve for visual indication of a need or lack thereof for additional water to be directed into an associated cell of the battery.
